I still have this on vinyl from 1988, the year it came out! Holy sh!t, I can't believe I still have this and a bunch of other vinyl from the 80's. I figured it would have been destroyed by now, from playing them too much! I eventually bought everything on cassette, then CD's in the 90's, so I could listen while driving and when I bought a good stereo system at home. I must have a majority of the first 20-30 Revelation releases on vinyl.
I first bought this album the year it came out and saw them even before it came out. They kind of sounded like NOFX back then, they were very similar to NOFX early on. Which isn't surprising that Fat Mike signed them to his label, back when the label didn't have that many bands on it yet. Some of their lyrics annoyed me though. Didn't agree with them much on their political ideologies, though I did on some things. One of the things that rubbed me the wrong way was how critical they were of America, yet they were from Canada. I was able to take the American bands (Bad Religion) that spoke against American policy, much more than the Canadian or British bands that did.

Another thing that annoyed me about Propagandhi was the band discouraged dancing at their shows. They didn't allow pits or any kind of moshing at all. It seem to remember Fugazi not allowing it either, so I guess I can't roast them too much for that. The first time I saw them, they were pretty good aside from that no moshing policy. Though when I saw them again, the singer preached and preached and preached and preached for like half the time they were on stage. I'm surprised he never put out a spoken word, with how much he talked about things. The very same things he was singing in his lyrics. Maybe he didn't think people would understand the lyrics when they played the song, who the hell knows? Haha. Their albums after that one were not bad, though they had a lot of metal riffs and stuff and even sounded closer to a thrash band in certain songs. Which is cool with me, don't get me wrong. I like plenty of bands like that. I think the worst part about their albums after that debut was they got a lot more serious and preachy. That album was goofy and not so serious. A couple of political songs, but some silly songs like Ska Sucks and that ''I want you to want me'' cover at the end of the album.

Agreed, I didn't but any more of their albums after this one. I didn't take the lyrics seriously, just fun to listen to back in the day. Kind of a one hit wonder to me. One of the few bands of that era that I never saw live.

    I love Thee Oh Sees!
If you like them check out Ty Segall and all his different bands. Mikal Cronin, a CA surfer,is part of his musical posse... Most of these guys are surfers. Wand is a trippy band, also.

This would be one of my very first Punk albums I ever listened to. The CD plays as good today as it did then.

Me and some friends have been toying with the idea of a Cramps cover band called The Clots.
We told a girl at a rockabilly show about our idea and she looked at us and said, "Why don't you call yourself The Gramps?" Hurt me to my very soul...

Greg was a huge Deadhead, from what I understand the whole band was.
