The fact that Austin has listened to the forum about Wayne and others is evidence that he is honestly attempting to balance keeping both SI membership and his boss happy, which surely can't be easy. Some of his methods haven't been met with success, to put it lightly. But it's obvious he's making the effort. Our demise can't be solely placed on his shoulders though. We need to accept some of the blame as well. This place has always been rough and tumble. Some people like it, some don't. It's what causes many would-be members to cut and run. But the recent levels of political divisiveness that have overtaken our society have permeated what should be our own personal bastion of escapism and sanity...The surfing forum. And almost every single one of us got caught up in it, in one form or another. And it got uglier around here than its ever been before. And that's on us. Nobody else. So yeah, Austin hasn't been perfect. But to be fair, we all have a part in the recent demise. Just like we can make it great again, if we act a wee bit more responsibly. I think we're on our way.

Wayne as a reminder, you can use the ignore function. It will hide posts by SI users that may be concerning to you or your children. In the event that you decide not to use it, then you should realize that you may receive some comments (whether negative or positive) that will be directed toward you for some of your posts that you made in the past. Hey Austin, how come when somebody gets banned these days it doesn't say "Banned" under their name? That's how it used to work. But now it's hard to tell if somebody is banned unless you notice their aviator is gone and that they can't be sent a PM. I think you guys are pushing the wrong buttons when you ban somebody and that's why there is so much trouble when you try to unban them. I also think it has more significant meaning when it says "Banned" under their name. The way it is now it's like they're in time-out or something.

My 2 cents: Micah built this beast and knows how the blood flows. Austin came in, not knowing and gave it a hell of a shot, but we are creatures of habit and people didn't like the changing habits. So everyone fought him with everything they had. The guy tried, he also backed off when we asked and he also brought back some banned peeps. From what I have seen, he stays in the shadows now unless called upon. Why are we lashing out at him again? Micah is back, so lets see what he does and where it goes.
^^^^ I'll say this. Although i dislike Austin, he is trying. He's just really bad at it. At first he came at us all wrong. Then he kinda got it. But was still acting stupid. Like bubs said, he has a condescending attitude. He told us to PM him with issues, which i have in a very polite manner, and i got totally brushed off. He says things that make us say "alright, that's a fair compromise" but then doesn't follow up on his end. Like i said, I'll admit he's trying. But he is absolutely terrible at it. He's made some improvements, but has a long way to go in my opinion. The comment bubs pointed out of his. Somthing about this is what we asked for. That right there is his problem, and my problem with him. If he cut that crap out, I'd have more faith in him. With all that said. It is what it is and the place isn't completely lost yet. Micah being back gives hope. Let's see what the future brings
