NOAA report and climate change

LOL I thought about posting this but the silence is much more interesting.

 

Yeah, the forumme. It's lame right now. Anyways, yeah, it's been a little warmer this year. I personally feel that things just go in cycles and it'll change again over time. I personally don't feel we as humans have much if any affect on this. The earth is going to do it's thing and we're just along for the ride. I think it's foolish of humans to think they can control it. Just my .02

 

I guess when you take away politics and scantily clads, this is what we get. All the morons ran out of sh*t to talk about lol Hardly anybody posting about surfing, what's left?

 

I realize some threads are gonna be non-surfing related but some of the shatt is sooooo fkn boring it makes ya go away hoping for better threads!

This definitely is the most mild Winter we've had in quite some time, even though I've spent quite a bit of time out of town and traveling for work. So I haven't been home every day, but it seems much warmer than years past. I don't think warm is the word, mild is probably the word. Not as many freezing nights, don't have to plug my truck in as much. Water temps are definitely warmer this year. It's usually 4 degrees cooler this time of year, maybe even 5 degrees cooler. Supposed to snow a bunch tomorrow though.

It's been being talked about for years, even when we had some awfully cold winters and were getting 12 foot snowstorms.

 

Been the complete opposite here on the left coast. Water has been about 3-5 degrees colder, and our coast has been confirmed as being the snowiest in the last 5 years.

I blame it on La Nina weather patterns.

Honestly, it's fruitless to draw conclusions of climate change on a week-to-week, monthly or even yearly analysis. It's a phenomenon that needs to be researched and analyzed over extended periods to have validity, and even then, can be subject to extremely broad interpretation.

Science and scientists are not infallible. But there is no question that a significant change has been taking place.

 

Tend to agree. The climate is going to change, the sea level rise and fall, whether man is here or not. Still, we need to be good stewards.

whether the emissions directly affect the climate I would say is up in the air( no pun)..however I would say that burning fossil fuels and their emissions cant really be good in the long run...and don't even get started on the mercury runoff from factories etc..fish are loaded with that stuff..even local shrimp now have polyster fibers from washing machine runoff

big business and industries are not always best in the long run
on this pace I am inclined to speculate that we aren't far from having beaches closed routinely due to various concerns

 

Good morning y'all!
There's so much we don't understand about our planet and its cycles and the universe in general. Astheysay" were just along for the ride". As humans on this spinning ball, we need to have a deeper understanding of our everyday actions and en mass how it affects the longevity of our ecosystem and we as people.
Each generation experiences different climate cycles, still not understanding the big picture. I know I don't. What I do know is the earth and living upon it, is a gift.
No matter how tough, smart, conquering we think we are, we are insignificant in the big picture.

 

NOAA radio is pretty cool too.

 

The hysteria over "Climate Change / Global Warming" is ridiculous. Like everything else follow the money trail.

Was it 75-80 degrees last February? The year before? The last 5-10 winters?

When you can say this during the next 10-20 February's, then it will be valid. Until then, it's only a temporary weather pattern.
