Barry, You may not be aware of studies that show Cannabinoid do have a good impact on neurological symptoms, and have neuro protective qualities. I am still learning about this. Apparently CBD oil is made from hemp. It has minimum amounts of THC in it. This contrasts with Sativex which is made from the Sativa plant and has THC and CBD in it. It's like the Wild West out there, docs are trying to get up to speed and certified by Florida to use it. They already use synthetic marijuana called Marinol for several serious illness. But it makes you high. I have zero interest in getting high. Had hoped someone here was taking CBD oil and knew how to get it and be sure it's not just olive oil.
FDA is bought, that's a fact. So many times I've seen a small research based pharma get denied by the FDA, only to be bought out by some bigwig like Pfe or Jnj and get a nod for the same drug two months later. It's all rigged. DEA just removed the "gateway drug" theory from their website. Check it. They are smart guys there but I think they're stuck in their own ditch right now.. you can't just say "we were wrong" on a dime, but most folk that work there know weed isn't a problem. As for medicinal uses - I'm a believer, and I strongly feel that if the government and big pharma would spend 1/100th of cannabis research as what they spend on marketing drugs that keep us sick enough to keep needing more drugs - the evidence and results would seize being "anecdotal" very quickly. But that's not profitable. Hence - you get chems with a few pages of side effects like suicidal thoughts and explosive diarrhea. thankfully tho I see people are waking up all over the world. Some bright, young, forward and free thinking people, open to new ideas, revolutionary scientists of our future, and that makes me smile. For that is the seed of hope that we have not yet been beaten into complete submission, and perhaps the generational evolution is the key to our freedom. We are born free, among animals, trees, birds, and fish. All natures gifts, all equal children. No tyrannical regime can ever grasp that and hence shall never evil reign over the forces of good.

No studies--you are getting this from the "common press", not from medical journals. Studies need to be LARGE NUMBERS (400 patients per group), have a study group AND a placebo group, randomized, DOUBLE blinded, and subjected to BOTH statistical analysis AND PEER review. No marijuana or its derivatives have been studied as such to date. Not one.

3 pages ago you weren't aware of CBD (yes, perhaps im assuming) but look at you - doing research and actually finding usable information on uses of a plant that has been illegal for a while. thats forward thinking, and i, for what its worth, am proud of you. i hope you find your answers, because now you deserve them.
I agree with Towelie in that the FDA is bought and paid for. I don't know if Maryjane cures anything but it helped me tremendously combating nausea when going through Chemo 20+ years ago. It's gotta be better than prescribing opioids for everything. I know some people that would benefit just from chilling a little.
So you ONLY agree with "scientist" that give you conclusions that agree with yours, even if yours are the result of bias (after all, you are not doing any research in your basement, are you??)? You readily discard results that do not meet your OPINION, based on, despite the fact that they are arrived at by reputable medical pharmacologists and medical researches, because, as you stated, they are "bought out" by pharma?? As for your assertion that small companies are not given a pass by the FDA to favor the large companies to whom they give the product to.....name one instance where that happened. I can infer you said that it happens often; that means many. I ask you to name ONE.....just ONE, where the FDA failed a small company product and handed it over to big pharma.....just one. You live in a world of conspiracies, Towelle. Not good. BTW...there many companies that received approval from the FDA and did very well with the marketing of it.
