Yeah, San Juan to Rincon seems like an even bigger waste of time, just getting to and from.

With the short window of time, I'm not sure there really is a closer destination to Jersey than Rincon or another spot in that region. Unless I wanted to drive to an East Coast spot or fly to California or something. There's a flight almost every hour from Newark to LAX or San Diego. Even a red eye. I'll probably just wind up staying home, hopefully something good here at home or somewhere in state.

Another month has gone by, a shorter month though so I didn't get as many sessions, but I still managed to surf 14 sessions in February. Looks like mostly waist - chest stuff this month with one day being epic. I could have logged another 2-3 sessions of Chest - Overhead but had some things going on that preventing me from getting out those days. Overall i'm up to 32 sessions in 2017, it's been a good year so far, can't wait for March!

    Knee - Waist = 3

    Waist - Chest = 7

    Chest - Head = 3

    Head - Overhead = 1

Dang DP. You the man. That's a lot of water time. Good on ya brah!
I haven't kept count and this past month is a blur with consistent overhead North swells hitting La Isla Del Encanto.
I may have you beat this month for number of sessions but your overall total for the year beats me.
This week however has been flat so far. Heading to the Southside of the island Thursday for potential perfection at the zipper like ruler edge lefts in Recio Patillas.

I've always wondered what that part of the island is like. Got any pics? Sounds amazing!

Yo archy. What up dude. It's been firing this past week down there huh?
Funny story. The 7-11 on ocean in long branch got robbed the other night. the dude shot the safe with a 9m to try and open it, with no luck

I've literally had to go through my post history just to count, as I pretty much post in the in the ''Who here has been surfing'' thread whenever I do have a surf day.

Today (February 28th) I did. February 23rd, February 9th, February 8th (not sure if I posted that, but I remember two surf days in a row on that Wednesday and Thursday when I had off from work). I was considering a trip to Rincon for 3 days, but it didn't make sense due to limited flight times and time constraints. January 29th. So that's only 5 times in the last 30 days and then I surfed on January 4th. So only 6 times, but at least twice in the last 5 days. Usually I've averaged about 4-6 hours for each of these sessions, so it's not all bad. 5 days in a month is a decent amount for me for this time of the year, I haven't had to travel much this month for work either.

I think today's might have been the smallest in terms of size.

I dunno. I think of it the other way... I missed one rideable day in February.

AND... I got a new suite for next year: 30% off at Brave. You can only re-glue your seam tape so many times.

I love getting new suites, almost as enjoyable as a new bort, but not quite that good. As for this thread, honestly it's just a place to document my surf log and I encourage others to use the thread to post theirs, if they keep one. I never did, always thought it was nerdy, and it is, but I just was curious how many sessions I am actually getting in a year. I didn't keep track last year. It's a dream of mine to surf every day of the year, one that will probably never happen, but it's a fun pursuit.

Great stuff, DPSup, great stuff - - you live the stoke

And nynj, that's funny that the idiot tried to blast open a safe with his 9. Never happen (unless it's a pos Sentry cash box, which isn't a safe). Thief is lucky he didn't get a shard of metal back in his nutsack.

7 sessions in February, I think. All in the knee-to-waist high range except this past sunday morning, which was solidly chest high with one or two head high sets coming through early on (didn't ride any of the head high waves, though I did test the viability of a couple as hats). Sh!tty month of surf up here on the whole, especially for the winter. But it is what it is.

With wife going back to work and daughter in day care, my work schedule has shifted earlier so dawn patrols are off the menu on weekdays, which will likely mean a couple less sessions overall especially in the summer when the southeast wind fvcks things up by mid afternoon every day. But there's something to be said for paddling out after work too and being able to really relax and not have any pressing obligations afterwards besides drinking a beer and feasting. On one hand, a good surf session in the morning before work always starts the day off right and I walk into the office in a fantastic mood. But on the other hand, it's always a bit of a buzzkill to transition straight into dealing with office bullsh!t, or to have work-related stuff on my mind while I'm in the water. So it is what it is. The fact that I've worked around shifting work/family/daycare logistics and come up with a new system that will still allow me to paddle out at some point on any day there's swell is a huge win. Hoping the waves pick back up in March, ideally starting with this afternoon (if it cleans up enough) and tomorrow.

Total for 2017 is 17 days surfed out of 59 total. >25%, was hoping I'd be at 33% but what are you gonna do. I can only take what the ocean gives...

No pics yet. Goin tomorrow. Have no camera and havin issues with phone cam, so we'll see how it goes.
Regardless the Southside is beautiful. Next time you hit up PR and it goes flat for couple o days, it's worth a day or two trip.
Surfed down there twice before. Nothing epic but one spot in particular is a perfect left. Perfect.

"Life is not about finding yourself, it;s about reinventing yourself" George Bernard Shaw

Or something like that. A bad day in the ocean beats a good day in the office hands down.
