My issue is that I have kids that surf which means passengers. With the seat folded I can actually get a 9'0" in there, but that limits me to one passenger. 90% of the time I just throw the board in the car, but not if I am taking one of them surfing. I also have a pickup that eliminates that issue, but it is a work truck and I hate unloading that thing to take it to the beach. I prefer the car to zip around in.

Yup....just upgraded my glasses recently to accommodate for a bit more vision loss. Sucks, actually.

cant argue with you. Back in the late 80s through late 1990s I had a Honda CRX. Best car I ever owned. 45 mpg every tank, 250,000 miles of trouble free two seat transportation.

I'm now 320,000 miles into my 1998 Corolla. It has been issue free as well, so no complaints, but I liked the CRX better.

I got 342K on a 2000 F-350 7.3 diesel. My best friend is the original owner and only owner before me. Then I got it in 2008 with 107K miles or 109K miles, something like that. Transmission was blown then, but I have the same one we put in back in January of 2008 and 245K miles or so later. Replaced ball joints, two water pumps, brake master cylinder (lost brakes on the turnpike and had to limp it in to work) and one under valve cover wiring harness. Oh, and a bunch of cam position sensors, which are common problems with this truck. I think I've replaced 2 and my friend replaced one when he had it.

It's not as cheap on fuel as your Civic's and Corolla's though!

I still have the 93 Mustang hatchback that I put my bort's in back in the early 00's. It's currently out of commision with a blown fuel pump, which went like a month ago and I haven't had time to replace since. Would love to load the bort's in the back for old times sake!

One of the best vehicles I ever had was a 1991 F250 with the 7.3 IDI International Diesel. Two wheel drive, standard cab. Over 400k and only had to do the transmission once, which was the weak link in those vehicles. Old school Mack truck like diesel got me about 18mpg when guys with similar gas trucks were getting around 11. Not exactly compassionate or Lefty, but I used to love to floor the throttle and bury joggers in that cloud of black smoke! :). Sad I ever got rid of her. IMG_20140109_144402.jpg
