LOL Thanks, I try to keep my area clean but right now it's got some clutter since I've been working hard on my boart repair and I have a headboard from a bed I need to trash as well. There's a whole other side to the garage that is setup as my smoke station. It's not as clean over there. But it's orderly.

I tried to teach my ex fiance, but it irritated her nipples because she had them pierced.

She pierced her nipples?? Advice: do not marry her. Too many reasons why to list here. Intelligence is NOT one of them.

So Uncle Barry, how smart would she be if she pierced her love bean?

Send her to the beach in deal on a windy day in march with your 5 year-old. The ultimate trial by fire, just throw her in the deep end.

Lol. If that woman had been a guy instead, I'm sure it would be been a classic thread.

surfing is what you do to get away from your girl

    100% exactly right.
    All else is foolishness.
I absolutely love being with my wife 99% of the time, but not while surfing. And that beautiful lady understands this and is okay with it.
    Good point metard.

I usually tend to agree. Though it was fine when we were on vacation and she would sit on the beach while I surfed. Same thing on Summer days at home, where there was good surf to be had and she would sit on the beach. As far as bringing her out all the time though, not something I was really into.
Haha we've been split for over 3 years now, before I got to marry her.

Are you serious? Might as well teach a seahorse to swim in a flabby armed spanking machine

When my crew brings a new person or offspring the first time, first we talk briefly about how to cover your head coming up from a wipeout, and how to put your arms straight out fingers curled in if you're tossed forward so you lower the odds of breaking neck. We try to start the new person on a 9' soft top for maximum chance of success and lower the injury from getting hit, if we remember to bring the soft top board,

Next we assess if they're goofy foot or regular foot. Then we teach pop up on ground and not to hold the rails upon popping up, and to point feet to the side.

As we get ready to walk the board out in knee to thigh high cleanish waves, we tell her to keep the board perpendicular to beach and to the side of the body. We quickly switch to paddling out to catch whitewater with me close by to supervise and create an illusion of safety.

We push them into a few waves so they get the feeling of acceleration. Then we just watch and gently coach/correct the rookie errors. When ready, we then help them catch a real, and small, wave, explaining how to shift weight to prevent pearling,

Usually just one brief lesson is all it takes. They're hooked. All future coaching is informal, depending on what she asks for, and basic errors we see.

Not being a great surfer myself, it's easier to coach a rank beginner.

Best advice I can give when you first start teach some one is don't expect to surf and catch waves your self. If you truly intend to teach her, you will need to have your undivided attention towards her.

It's hard to be teaching someone and watch good waves roll by you'd otherwise catch. If your really frothing, go surf for an hour come back in get your girl and surf with her for an hour
