I'm capable, I just like being connected to the wave, not disconnected from it. Sometimes I launch at the end of a run if it's there and the wave is closing out, but I won't attempt to land it, just a way to exit for me. I prefer carving turns, cutbacks, snaps, you know, more power surfing stylee. I don't hate on airs though, I think they're pretty bad ass for those that can land them. I see people boost all the time and biff, but I know you gotta fall a bunch to land em just like learning to land a trick in skateboarding. I have scars from that.
When I say I can do airs, I don't mean 6 ft off the water. I am talking barely getting the board out of the water after hitting a nice long fast rampy wave. Maybe I don't ry hard enough because I think it is......gay. Not worth the effort, and boring to boot. Now, if I did like doing airs, I would take up kite boarding--that is where serious airs are done, not on surfboards. Even sailboards are better air masters than any surfer, bar none. Wrong maneuver for surfboard--kinda like driving a car off of a cliff........
Paging Dr. Embellishment, paging Dr. Embellishment, you're wanted in the reality check room LOL DSUP said airs, ive seen you surf DSUP and my donkey has more style and I dont even have a donkey, so whats that tell you?
The air is sacred, just like a dolphin jumping out of the water; full breach. I can air, just my boost game is soggy and mopped up. ( When you take to the air you will know you belong there )
