Stoke is the fuel that drives this thread, thanks Betty, "Queen Of Stoke". (especaily since you're in Port Fierce hahaha)
I am going to present the other side of the stoke spectrum. I haven't surfed in over 2 weeks and I am starting to become a real assholes (just ask my wife and work colleagues). Work, family, I got all kinds of excuses. Hope to remedy very soon.
I surfed yesterday...out of desperation. Conditions were very good, but the waves were not willing. Possibly one of the worst sessions I've ever had. Yippee
Heading for CR next week; knee test, bringing coupla boarts will see how it rolls, looks to be min OH most dayze. As I start to close down ops in metro, I'm looking to this brief CR surf trek as springboard to finally surfing many times every month this year & getting to be better than just the hack surfer that I am now. Mitchell's pics, along with the stoke of Betty & DPSUP & Kan & Keed & Gaff & Z & MistahBelmar & TREV, as well as others descripts have saved this winter of idle chumming for me......gracias buoyz
Yewwwww. Enjoy that trip dude. Spare us some cool ride reports. Love hearing about a good stoke session.
As for testing your knee, careful with that--go slow, man. Go slow. a few years ago I had my knee scoped for meniscus. Went out to early wearing a 4/3 wetsuit, dumbass move on my part. Pain sucked, the percosets were wonderful. Whoooppeeee. Oh, wait--I am not supposed to like that euphoria.....it is frowned upon by "decent society"....but then again....who says I am "decent"??? HAve a great trip....and take a few analgesics with you......prescribed analgesics...legal.
Roger willco, Barry, gracias DP. Won't be looking to do too much. Guiones doesn't usually handle size too well. Becomes closeout citay. Not good for recently worked on knees. As you say....go slow...Got the Hydro(codone) aka 'Favre Me' which makes for a mellow day when combo'd with cold Seguas.
Warm and fun little spring time kine waves this afternoon. Friend of mine managing to get 2 gallons of spray out of a one gallon wave.
It was hectic today, someone lost their boat off their trailer on the bridge, lucky I was going the other way, then someone lost their boat on da beach near da jetty, it was a jet skidoo and they no habla englais as I tried to tell them high tide tomorrow was ocho and the waves should die down by then. It was choppy and crowded and fun. Lots of random chunks and plenty of duckdiving and paddling in the chest to shoulder high soup. Life is goode
Wind finally chilled out today. It was still onshore but very light with the occasional breeze. ESE swell lingering around the chest - head range. It wasn't exactly good, but it wasn't bad either. Overall it was a fun session, with great weather and hardly anybody out. I rode the Flashback Fish, good choice. I prefer NE swells, but I'll take it!
Had a sesh with Bassmon up N. on Saturday. He showed me one of his rad spots. Conditions weren't completely ideal, but we both grabbed a few chest slabs over the course of a couple hours. Stoked to get back up there again and do some recon. Looks like there may be some more swell to be had soon...
surfed 8/9 days, east side west side north shore just plain stoked on west side points, slabby lil onshore reefs, draining perfection on the north shore fkn A
