I admit, I know nothing about this contest. Don't they get publicity? Don't they get prize money?

They NEED a 5 hour window at least to run this contest. Unlike wsl contests, or other ones, you can't run it over a couple of days. It is held in Asbury Park, and the window of great surf here in Momouth County during Stella was from about 4pm, (when it got OK with the wind), to sunset at 6:45 when it was just mental 8foot A framing gutting giants. That being said, there was also a state of emergency which prohibited them from setting all of this up on the beach and really doing anything involving the contest. Keep in mind the contest has like 15 or so ppl running it that dont even surf, so the surfers are who really care about the waves. All of these crappy flaws lined up for an uncontestable day of competition. Also, this is all information gathered by people who organize and run the contest so don't go quoting me and slashing me about this. In reality if you look at all of the factors, they didn't "blow it for stella" it was just simply not doable. But hey, all the surfers that scored dont give a &$@* whether the contest was held or even existed hahaha

Couldn't have had it Tuesday. Cleanup was too late and even then it wasn't that good. Wednesday had good waves all day sunrise to sunset. Yes they blew it big time by not having it Wednesday.

If a "cold" contest is to be held, New Jersey is NOT the place to hold it.
Try, Maine, NH or Nova Scotia. Get sponsors willing to go to COLD areas, not tropical New Jersey.
Only wimps have hold cold surf contests in warm climates.......

NH ain't cold. That's where pussies from Maine (that are afraid of the cold) go to surf

Naw, the Maine pussies are afraid of surfing where there are rocks, so they come "south of the border" to a few sandy beaches.
