It's a sub, and any m'fer that disagrees, I will meet you to fight IRL. Best sub I ever had was in CT. My bud and I were driving back to NYC from Maine after hiking Mt. Katahdin. Pulled off the highway and stopped at some random place. It was sub nirvana. Everything hand made. The meats, the dude was pulling the bread out of the oven, along with some roasted red peppers. Best GD I-Talian sub I've ever had in my life. I refused to finish it since I just couldn't bear to see it end. It made it to NYC and after two days of me nibbling on it my bud laid down the law, it had to go, one way or the other. I finished, then spent an hour in the shower crying like a baby. I don't think I'd shed tears in twenty years, but I did that day. I still miss that sub. RIP my friend.
sounds like a good sub dibellas bakes their own bread....there are dibellas in CT: Newington, milford, Hamden, wallingford

Slaters in Atlantic Highlands makes the best subs I've ever had. They used to make a super sub that was absolutely massive. Also great porkroll egg and cheese sandwichs. Right on 36 on the way to the Hook.
Hoagie Haven. Forty years in the same location. http://www.hoagiehaven.com/ Even have a Wikipedia entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoagie_Haven Stumbled in there for grub many a time in the wee hours after a long night of partying.
Just walked in to a deli and ordered a hero. The guy said "You mean hoagie?" I slapped him and walked out
