Single Fin Shortboards

I've got a Santa cruz soybean single fin. It's either 6' or 6'2" I'll have to check when I get home if you are interested. Perfect condition comes with a custom board bag, side bites, and a True ames squirrel cutaway. I'd take $200 for it I'm in raleigh NC but travel down to wilmington quite often can also ship.

 

Dude! Grew up surfing single and then twins at yur break. Twins or quads the way to go IMHO. Singles are great if the wave is driving not so good on the mush. When I went from a single to a twin I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Quad has kinda a twin feel depending on fin size. I think it is silly to try and surf a single on a short board where we is. Just my .02. I would love to have an old NA twin from the early eighties.

I have a 6'0'' egg round pin singlefin pretty thick and flat. some of my best tubes have been on it. not much of a going vertical thing or for bowls but at a down the line wave it can take some interesting lines. Sick for hard offshore days. 7' tudor fin of some sort.

Im not too much of a fan of the shortboard looking ones with a single fin. I think its better as a low rocker tube shooter disc thing

 

Single fins are dope. All about that glide and flow. I've got a FCD huevo ranchero, 2+1 that I prefer to ride as a single with somethin nice n flexy in waves with a lot of open face and room to run.

A good HPSB is like a Porsche 997. You feel connected to the road, when you shift gears there's instant power or back pressure, the back fin is like suspension reacting to the slightest twitch of the wheel. A single fin to me is more like a mid-70s Cadillac El Dorado, oversized, front wheel drive with a giant 502. The speed's there when you need it; but it's a lot more fun to cruise down the freeway going 85, with the top down and your arm dangling out the side than it is to leave tracks down a curvy,mountain road and you better start thinking about that turn about 3 waves before you actually dig that back foot in. But that feeling of just flinging your arms out like a gull, leaning back a far as you can and givin up control, letting gravity and the fin take over on a big, backside bottom turn; until you feel the fin spring back and you find yourself racing up the face of the wave and you lean back in and shift your weight forward and race down the line; it's a thrill.
