The issue with deal is you have homeowners who are there for a month or two a year claiming there's no parking, which who in the hell needs street parking when you have a 6 car garage and a driveway that could fit 20 cars, and who are actively working with the township to create ordinances that will only provide what is most likely a set number of permits (sure there's 200 yearly permits per year at $150? I wipe my arse with that much in benjis every day f*co the poor people lets buy them all and keep those savages off our beaches that we don't actually own) completely restricting beach access to an area that received massive tax payer funding for the replenishments done there which were not limited to deal but the state as a whole.

In the old days they would just put up whites only signs, however now the progressives look down on all the lower class ( the producers ) as all scum. So in the modern era it's not as easy to discriminate against the non equals, they now need lawyers and city councils to restrict access to what they perceive as their own. This has nothing to do with capitalism.

Make it a race argument at the meeting and you will win. Find out how many minorities own houses there, I bet it's close to 0%. Use their own medicine against them. Trust me propaganda is my expertise and troll the crap out of them.

I hate Beaner music as much as the next person but that doesn't make restricting beach access ok. Expecially since people in Texas are paying for the federal grants to help do beach replenishment.

If you do make it a race thing these people will never try that sh*t again.

A lot of the deal homeowners aren't white actually.
The main demographic is actually Orthdox Sephardic Jews, mainly from Syria.
Its not really a surprise that a heavily conservative group of homeowners who pay multiple millions of dollars want a bunch of surfers and random families to gtfo.
I've found rich white people who own homes near the beach in the surrounding areas are actually supportive of surfing, but they're also mostly drinking rums, tanning and driving Porsches while watching their grandkids on the foamies so its also not really a surprise why they like their perception of "surf" culture.

Hahaha, the summer residents of Deal are notorious for leaving trash on the beach. Esp the younger ones. I work in these homes and the parents do zero in disciple but are give their kids Ferraris and Porches when they turn 17. It's embarrising to watch an 8 year old boss around their nanny like a personal slave.

OK; and are the Jews black or Mexican? I think not. Those Jews probably voted for Hillary, 90% did. Give them a taste of their own medicine Trust me the race card will work.

Sephardic Jews from Syria? Really? Syria????
Sephardic jews were the jews expelled from the Iberian Peninsula (Spain & Portugal) by the Catholic Kings (Fernando & Isabel La Catolica) in 1492, finally after centuries of conflict with Catholicism. They moved to Northern Africa. Are you sure they are Sephardics in Syria?? It is possible they went there, but, back in 1492, travel was not easy across the Magreb (Northern Africa), across the Sinai, and then up to Syria.

Hey Metard- like others said- this town is totally a different kind of town. Cep described well...

All beaches everywhere are different- here they are not trying to install parking meters (resident would hate the site of that) but actually restricting access.

A major difference with beaches nj/ NC is that we actually have to pay to get on the beach (not just parking). Like 10 bucks for a beach day pass +parking. So we used to having to pay. In fact this might be one of the few that your don't have to pay.. but it is ungaurded and unkept

ANYWAYS wow I can't believe they are trying this again. Anyone know the outcome of the meeting last night?

I guess they are going to try every year until we all get tired of fighting back...

What burns me up the most is that they are all literally summer resident and can't see found in the off season - so they want restricted parking even tho they are there for 3 months of the year??

Idk bout Sephardic Jews. All I know since I've grew up in the next town over is that they are a bunch of inbred mutants with no respect for anyone not of their ilk.
The gene pool is quite odd. Majority of the male are feeble worms and a good portion of the females are hot as sh*t, except when they open their mouths it ruins anything that is aestheticaly pleasing.
In the summer you have to be super alert driving bc they will cut you off with no regard then flip you the bird afterwords. They often take up 2 somtines 3 parking spots at the market, stop in the middle of traffic to talk on the phone, and are litter like the beach is one giant trash can. They look and treat others as subhumans because it is heavily pushed in there circle that they are the superior race.
They don't have relationships or sex outside of their community and if they are caught they are banished and disowned. I've seen it first hand. Riches to rags for hooking up with a Gentile.
The worst part of this parking ban is they don't even drive on Saturdays bc of their religion. So the most heavily frequented day of the summer months they don't even need the parking.
The parking regulation is a blatant attempt to thwart off outsides. Period.

The question I have is how many parking permits will they issue? It might be some very low number, which the residents will snap up.

And also a parking permit is *very* different than a parking meter. A permit you need to apply for, justify the $100 fee, mail it in, wait for it in the mail... A parking meter, you pull up, sling in a few quarters, and off you go.

If you want to severely restrict parking access on your street, then the permit is definitely the way to go.

Really hard to to explain to someone that doesn't know this area what has been going on.
It was once the best little secret in NJ. No beach fees, free parking, could surf any time, any where, excellent fishing, no life guards, no cops on the beach, jetties and surf spots all over. A relatively small group of locals were dialed into this place for decades, and it was their backyard. There literally was no beach in most spots, just a big rock seawall that met the ocean, or a short stubby black sand beach nobody bothered to sit on in summer. Pure freedom, the way the beach is supposed to be.
But Army Corps came in in 2016 and pumped the beach with sand (with all of our tax dollars I might add), making big wide beaches as part of a $40 million dollar beach replenishment project. Surfers and fisherman fought for years to stop it, but Hurricane Sandy convinced the towns they needed it, and US congress fully funded it. They destroyed many great surfing and fishing spots along the way, cut up and buried jetties with sand, and just made a general mess of the entire area. It's a wasteland now.
But the big free beach caught the attention of tourists and sunbathers in summer 2016. These people came in droves filling the streets last summer, leaving trash and being general assholes that they are. Many of the people causing problems were Brooklyn based NY'ers that have summer houses in Deal, or day trippers. They have no idea how to respect the beach. Left trash right on the beach and in the streets, as that is how things work in NYC I guess. These kids are some of the richest people in the United States, make no mistake about it. If you don't know the Syrian community of Brooklyn and Deal, I would not even know where to begin to tell you about them.
So the richest of the rich beachfront owners (these are 5-10 million dollar summer home CASTLES, not regular homes) are not complaining and the town is trying to charge for parking with this permit requirement to try to keep the daily beach goers out of town. These are incredibly powerful, wealthy people. It's a slap in the face to all the locals who used this beach basically in secret for so many years, coming and going quietly, with no problems from the homeowners.
In the end, it's the local surfers, fisherman, and other locals that are suffering, as they lost everything here, their surf breaks, their jetties, their secret little beaches, and now parking too.
This is a battle of the super wealthy who don't want the general public near their homes, on their streets, and on "their" new beaches.
    Everyone should be concerned.

this has been brewing for years in OCMD where condo owners don't want a surfing beach on 'their' beach.

Dayyyum chief, you're a flupsing brainiac.

Take a look at this: https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/capitalism ..."a system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit". These are private owners maximizing the value of their property by keeping you the flups out of their town. Sounds like capitalism to me. And if they can use/abuse the government to increase that value for themselves, then capitalism is all for it. Capitalism doesn't just mean "whatever benefits *me* the most right now" like you might think, at least not unless you're rich.

Everyone who thinks they have a right to be there must like the idea of collective ownership. Guess what? That's pretty core to socialism, flupsers. And hey, if that's your thing, I don't judge - we're flupsed by a lot of stuff that's way outside party lines. I just think it's ridiculous that you guys spend all day on this here medical advice site acting like you actually understand politics, taking dumps on anybody who disagrees with you, and then 1st grade dropout crap like this shows up. On the reg.

Oh, and this *is* my intro tread, flupsers. I've been here since Micah first started this site, way before all you internet tuff guys came on. Back when people here talked about surfing. Flups, back when people who used this site *actually* surfed (but I gotta give credit where credit's due: at least the brainiac's trolling started out surf related).

    Enjoy your present, kids.

The Jews in Deal are probably the biggest racists in the area. Any outsider or "non-believer" is looked upon in their town and they will do anything to keep out non-Jews.

I agree with clown on this one. Get a lawyer to say the law is racist and it will go away.

Yes, they are all bennys from northern NJ or NYC that come down for a few months. They aren't local just seasonal bennys. They should buy land up there with Joey Buttafuaco and the gang in LI.
