My first bort was a Valtera Dragon. My first custom (2nd bort) was a Vision Gonzales with G&S ultralight trucks, Swiss bearings, and some spitfires.

had a skater come in to my shop today for a custom cut for a grinding pole
I swear this dude was what gives skaters a bad name lol,i was literally laughing the whole time he was talking, like grade a 100% hipster, barely even knows how to skate and he was probably late 20s.

hes telling me how he wants this mobile set up I'm like dude just skate the streets,u think guys are measuring rails and determining angles before they grind it,it was like the dude wanted a custom pair of training wheels

That's funny. We use to skate all around town in search of rails, curbs, steps, gaps, loading docks, etc. There's enough out there if you know where to look.

What up skate rats? I was just reading an Encinitas's Mag with a story about skate photog Grant Brittain. He dialed in pictures of the bones brigade and the animal chin ramp. Anywho the article brought back memeories of the 80's.

There is a picture of the hand planting the spine with hawk, mountain, cabellero and McGill. When I was shredding half pipes (relatively speaking), I was riding a McGill and totally remember this picture coming out. The 80s were the shiz.

    Ride on...

3 major innovations in skating over the last 50 years, imho:

    1)sealed bearings
    2)polyurethane wheels
    3)Carver trucks

and long before parks, the drainage ditches under the Delaware Memorial Bridge were good fun and well worth the journey to get there.
