HAHA Don't get me wrong, I like the old 1964 Impala SS for example but I don't like the newer ones at all. Completely different vehicles. Not exactly what I would buy to transport a surf boart though, that's where I was coming from on that.
Dear Mr. Swellinfo, I hope you ain't sore at me, cuz now my buoy is t!ts up dead. http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=42035 Geez. You didn't have to go THAT far. Dang Somali pirates done moved to the Gulf. We want our buoy back.
Ho Lee Sh!t! It's fixed! http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/show_plot.php?station=42035&meas=sght&uom=E&time_diff=-5&time_label=CDT Mr. Swellinfo rules! Buoy was broke for a couple days. That's what I call RESULTS! I might even buy me a T shirt. Knee to waist high. Empty beach. No work today. Time to go bodysurfin. Later.
The old ones are cool but the new ones or every model made in the last 45+ years suck! I've never owned anything other than an 8 cylinder though. Either Mustangs (73 Mach 1 was my first car), still have a 93 5.0 LX that I've had for 17 years in August, had an 03 Mach 1 from brand new until I was hit and it was totaled last September and just bought a 2011 5.0 a couple weeks ago. Also had a 93 Camaro from 93-99 and a few trucks, all 8 cylinders. Never had a 6 or a 4 cylinder and never had a front wheel drive. I think it's best to have a pickup or a mid to full size SUV for surfing, if you have no rack. I see plenty of people driving Civics and Outbacks with racks though.
I had a 03' Tahoe 4x4 for about a decade until someone T-boned me on my way to the beach one morning. Best surf vehicle ever. Now I have a 07' Trailblazer which is a great option as well, but I'm gonna get a pickup truck in 6-12 months to replace my wife's 04' Corolla. Buy used, cash. No finance.
Same here, haven't bought new or on credit since 1986. All time fave was my '69 Bronco which I owned for 22 years. Sold it, made $$$ and bought an '88 Carrera convertible lol. Great car but a lousy surf vehicle. Drove the piss out of that for 7 years, sold and made a killer profit, and bought a 100,000 mile Astro van with all the records. Thing has been a lifesaver this year when air was 30 and water was 45 with 20 mph offshores. Changing into a wetsuit in a warm enclosed space is a game changer.
69 Bronco was like a freakin Sherman tank. Put some 33" tires on that sumb!itch and pull trees out the ground.
Yeah dude, had 33's and a 3" Rancho lift with a Hurst floor shift and a 302 with an Edelbrock and a mild RV cam. It was a beast, I'll try to post pics of it later.
Suite. TJ has the square headlights, right? Do urslef a favor, save the beach wear and tear on that GLA dude. Friend of mine picked up what was billed as a 390 for his Ford hi-boy. Just found out it's a 429 Cobra Jet. Can you say "score" lol
Ahhh, I always screw up the TJ and the YJ. So yours is the first series with the 4 coil suspension IIRC. Great improvement, you'll never go back to leaf springs again.
love it but it beats you up and long hauls. Have a Volvo C30 R now but just don't like the new Swedes as a replacement.
