You're getting what we got yesterday and last night. I did get in a few good hours before we really got the brunt of it though. I always joked that the reason that virtually none of the posters here are from California is because they don't have time to post here, with how much they're out surfing. While the East Coast guys don't have much to surf, so they have more time to spend on the internet haha.
I went for a drive up into Maine where it was offshore, very fun, meaty, juicy, bit disorganized and rippy though. But I'll take head high offshore any day in june. Hopefully things clean up in NH tomorrow. Def some size out there.
consistently overhead and glassy here with couple of onshore/sideshore wind days thrown in for variability. going on week 5 i think? Long days are nice, get off work and still get 4 hours in the water before dark
Yesterday at twilight on LB it was packing a nice punch. Would have been perfect if there was another hour of daylight to let the tide drop, but was still able to tuck into some hefty rights. Going frontside when it's glassy is always much more fun man Side note: the new jetty they're building (basically finished) at the west end of the boardwalk by New York ave sucks, I'm already hating that thing.
Got out this morning--surf was head high, some 1 ft over head. Getting out was not easy but I did anyway. I was the ONLY one out; all the chicken sh!ts were home pooping in their pants afraid to give it a go. Mo betta for me!!!
Glassy little bump after work today for an hour before the sideshores kicked in... me and one other guy avoiding each other. Shedding the boots 'till Fall.
Got out this morning once again--2 hour session; good enough for an old fart. Chest to heard high, semi glassy. Some nice late take-offs with a great drop. Next session?? This afternoon/evening....hopefully.
Surfed two different times on Wednesday. I think about 3-3.5 hours in the first one and then went down the road a little bit for a 2 hour session after dinner. Then had a 3.5 hour surf today. Thought the winds wouldn't cooperate today when looking at the forecast last night, but it wasn't too bad. Waist to stomach high both days, a little bit choppy at times today. Air temperature was a little cooler and you could tell the water dropped a couple degrees over these past 2 or 3 cooler days. Loving the surf we've been getting for the past month, it's been as good as I can remember in the past two late Spring's. I don't remember surfing this much over the past few May's/early June's.
yesterday evening was a first session in what seemed like a month, def weeks. Got a lil chopster, but there were rideable chest hi that had to go toes on the nose at least for me for most of the evening. took out the hog molly 7'2", had several nice rights up down the line. Had a funny bunny hop b/c of the chop, bounced myself right off the board - never had done that before, must've left the kook alarm on. this morning it was more glassy, took out the LB at the Washout. had some stellar rides along the walls, rights like yesterday. glad to make it out there with some buds, good times
Just got out after hitting 1st skreet from about 5:30 till 8. Scored solid chest/shoulder sets, clean glassy and peeling. Crowds were fairly thick, but nothing unmanageable. Rode my minisimms and was sitting out with the lb'ers. Caught three or four that held open for about 75+ yards. Ton of fun. worst part was trying to thread through all the shortboarders sitting more to the inside, and even that wasn't too bad today. No drop ins, so I count that as a complete win. Waiting for the tide to drop out so I can ditch work early and head back out. Hope y'all score today. Dos xx, if you haven't made it out already, get on it!
I hit it just before sunrise this morning, NE rising swell, last 2hrs of incoming high tide so it was deep and kinda funky. North - South drift so lots of paddling to stay in position but nothing too strenuous. It was slow for the 1st hour and then picked up toward the end as the tide was filling in. Mostly chest - shoulder+ on the sets but I think it's going to be bigger at low tide and cleaner. Hope to get off early today and hit it at low / mid incoming. Lots of f'ing fish in the water, small and large. Fishy smell in the air, upwelling, colder than normal water, but skinned it anyways. Not the most consistent session but I got some good set waves when they came through. I rode the Flashback Fish today, it had been a minute.
Belly high with some chest high sets in southern monmouth county. The bobbers have arrived. They don't bother me though. They just sit there and don't go for waves. If they get in the way of a ride, they are just speed bumps.
