Read "The Devil's Teeth" by Susan Casey, it is non-fiction, about the GW population off the Farallon Islands off NorCal. Cool stuff.
Awesome book. Having grown up in that section of nor cal, i could be a bit biased. Its not if over there, its when. Although aviod her other book "the Wave" its basically a Laird Hamilton love sesh
I can just see Laird proofing her manuscript. "You need to mention my abs more, did you say how they look like slabs of granite? Not marble, granite! Also, you have to mention how paddleboarding is as close to the ancient Hawaiians as you can get, unlike commercialized surfing" as he wears his Oxbow and Naish shirt and hat. I think that book was written a level he could comprehend.
Hey interval I got a nice big and hawd cawk to slam in you! 8 inches, fat, you think you can handle that?
Haha I saw last weekend how her path had her coming ashore somewhere around Toms River and going into the Barnegat Bay, then back across Ortley Beach and into the ocean again. I forget exactly where it had crossing at, but it was funny to see that. My buddies and I kept joking about how she was lucky she wasn't run over on Route 35.
I had her ping a few years back by Masonboro inlet and the CB pier. Her track literally had her swimming through my condo. I was safe because I was surfing...
Ha! Good thing you weren't home! I ain't heard of us havin shark issues (yet?) here in Galveston. Was bodysurfin last week. Standin in water to my armpits, when "POP!" Up comes a fin, not too big, maybe 8", 10 feet away. For the 1st second or so, yer butthole puckers, til you see the trajectory and then the shape of the fin. Flipper was basically in the same room as me, havin some of them fish that kept bumpin into my legs, for breakfast. Popped up 2 or 3 times, then I watched the water swirlin as he swam away. Dolphins are pretty cool, but they can surprise ya early in the mornin.
Yep, right off my spot. We were gonna take a skiff out to look for her but then we watched Jaws......
