hmmmm prescription opiods derived from the same poppy plant as heroin are fine but weed and beer are "bad"? o barry
Reread your post and please look for lack of logic therein. You are a normally intelligent being. You will find it....if you aren't high on weed and or alcohol.
I've been there during summah, only got it waist high, the wall was not an issue, but what a kook show. I spent most of my time laughing at the collection of poseurs. It was kinda low tide and very shallow and fun waves were had. I liked Rye bettah.
Keep this treade on surfing, por favor SI Peeps. Greatest, beegest treade in SI Fourume historye: 600 pages of actual surfing asspects.
Those "poseurs" you refer to are Massholes from the Peoples Republic of Massholia. Today The Wall has dropped down to knee high, and surfers are actually doing stretches etc before surfing, as if they were going into Jaws or Maverick--new term for those: "Poseholes" - please add to SI Surf Dictionaire
When I was at The Wall, this one dude walks across the street with a brand new neon green accented wettie, with a brand new shiny boart, and I said to my buddy, I'll bet he can't even paddle out. I was almost right, he finally made it out after 15 minutes. In two foot surf. At least he was committed.
2.5 days of long period swell with a little mix in it. It was definitely like surfing indo or Hawaii (not quality) but waiting 10 minutes for sets and literally flat until they came (especially on Saturday...Friday was more active due to the windswell mixing in). Caught various conditions from thigh to shoulder high with Saturday morning being the best...the southerly winds kicked in hard and jacked it up. Friday had good conditions....milk glass first thing in the morning. Pretty cool swell though. Buoys are still showing some of it lingering. It was lully but still pretty fun.
155 miles is not a jaunt but a junket for me. I am going 500 miles to Hatteras in a few days. That is an excursion. I hope you score tomorrow!
Even as a horny teenager, I never drove more than a couple hundred miles (WPB to G'ville) for the poon. Surf on the other hand, that's another story. Lots of trips up to Cape Hattaras, (and we'd always stop back at G'ville on the way back home).
TPTSNBN is definitely ok, but State bars in better shape. At least, until the guards of the empty beach come on at 1000.
#Hattaras Got some small waves on Sunday for a few hours after low tide. More fun than they should have been considering the size. Surprisingly well lined up. This evening surfed some waist to chest SE choppe around high tide. Even though the wind was light it was kinda messy with a bit of a drift. Still fun though. It's the middle of June and there's something to surf in south Florida so I'm not gonna complain. Maybe some more tomorrow. I'll take what I can get this time of year.
Hayzus!! While not flat, waves suck here today. South winds are bringing up "upwellings" of cold water. And that means that, in 2 days water temp dropped from 60*F to 52*F--from 3/2 wetsuit to 4/3 wetsuit. Surfing sucks in the Northeast. This is Summer now and water temps should be mid 60s, not lower 50s...... Oh well, I will cycle a 15-20 miles today instead. Even going for a paddle would suck because winds are chopping things up.
