where do you get your news from? who do you rely upon to inform you that you would not consider to be "fake news"?

WSJ, some NYT, Daily Mail, Economist, WaPo, Breitbart, NY Post, WBJ, Fortune, Forbes, Zero Hedge, The Hardscrabble Farmer, some LA Times, The Z Man, various financial publications.....

And the 'Comments' sections below many of the articles. Some of those folks post intriguing, succinct items that elucidate, and sometimes eviscerate, a topic.

That's what I read. I make up my own mind as to what's got an agenda behind it (most of it). With most, I'm just looking for kernels of truth. The big picture is shot to shiiiite for most of those pubs. In other words, I'm an equal oppty skeptic as to 'real news' and 'fake news.'

    And your sources for news...?

Premiums within Obamacare are rising faster than what they were prior to obamacare.
Obamacare corrected nothing. Made things worse.
90% of those on Welfare of any kind are freeloaders BY CHOICE.
Obmacare should be repealed and NOTHING should be put in to replace it.

Trumps program I am sorry to say will change nothing.
Same program, tweaked , with a different name on it.
Obamcare should be repealed, repealed, repealed, repealed.........never replaced, never, never, never......
But all the bleeding hearts in Washington have no balls, no balls, no balls, ad infinitum.....

I'm talking about Welfare reform. Health Insurance will work itself out.

I was on bike ride yesterday, and was thinking, what if everyone who received subsidies for health insurance from the government were required to do civic service hours to compensate the system? Would it be more appealing to the right, and would the uninsured (or premium challenged) do it to get their families' insurance.

Pre existing conditions should still be covered, somehow. Pay into a system for decades, get sick, they raise your rates to force you out, that ain't fair.

Trump should leave obamacare in place, then watch it implode as everybody leaves it and refuses to sign up.
Then no replacing will be necessary. Just scratch it off the Congressional roles and print every name of any politician that voted for it, and run the list nightly as an advertisement on prime time tv. That would be the death of the Democratic Party...forever.

The government has no Constitutionally defined role in healthcare. You are a commie....

I can dig it but it aint gonna happen. Republicans have the house, the senate, and the presidency, so people will hold them accountable as well for not fixing it, even though they didn't create it.

I don't disagree that there is terrorism... I'm just saying that making it seem like it's the biggest issue in America is just false. The amount of terrorist attacks on US soil is minimal. I'm all for killing terrorists, just saying it is fear mongoring to make it seem like Americans are getting killed by terrorists frequently... Far more people die from being poor and not being able to afford treatment to illness than terrorism.

I was only referring to terror attacks by non-americans, because the travel ban won't fix american born terrorism... And I don't give a fuk if they never let another muslim in the country. I say ban everyone.

That's because DJT promised he would fix it. He should be held accountable, just like he should get props for promises he fulfills.

Fair points, but IMO 1 attack is 1 too many. I'm all about prevention. You don't want to wait until it becomes a big problem to deal with it, instead, you nip it in the bud. That way, we don't end up like Europe and have a bigger problem than we can handle. They are f*cked! I don't want to see that happen here. And if we don't put it stop to it now, it will eventually happen, mark my words.
I agree he should be held accountable, along with everybody in the Republican party.

To your comment about rising premiums, yes, there may be a painful period in the short term as insurance companies figure out how to make a profit in the new world without losing business. My personal belief is that market forces would correct this over time. I would also add that most of what is reported on the news is based on premium projections, which are often more drastic than the eventual reality. This 2016 from the New England Journal of Medicine explains this point: http://www.nejm.org/doi/pdf/10.1056/NEJMp1605913

As far as repealing Obamacare without replacement, how would you propose that we cover the cost of emergency services? Is it sufficient to stabilize a patient following a car accident, then ignore their broken bones? Treat someone's cancer into remission, then throw them to the wolves when they have a recurrence?

I'm all for personal responsibility, but these situations are real.

They can't answer those questions... they can't answer the question about the poor baby born with a heart condition. Instead they make blanket assertions that everyone gets what they deserve. It's the only mindset that allows them to avoid the reality (ie the cause and effect) of their policy prescription. I said it earlier... its easy to make judgments about people you don't know... if its your dad, kid or neighbor, you change your tune...

I'll try this... Barry, what if your grand-daughter, who I know you love more than anything, was born with a heart condition that required numerous surgeries and lifetime care to the tune of a few million bucks? Take away coverage for pre-existing coverage or allow for lifetime caps on insurance and they'd be done for. Can you, your daughter and son-in-law reasonably be expected to carry that burden on their own?

i say that poor baby with the heart condition needs to just pull itself up by the bootstraps, quit working at walmart and get a job with excellent benefits like the rest of us and then stop whining all the time.

as for barry's grand-daughter, she wasn't born that way so your point is moot. stupid point actually. but if it's somebody else's grand-kid though, barry says just let 'em die.
