Don't know if this will catch on, but i think some will enjoy this. We got a what you sippin on thread and a what are you listening to thread. So why not a what did you eat thread. Pictures are encouraged. Share recipes, talk nutrition, or just tell us what you cooked/ate today.

This was an idea that literally just popped into my head. So no pictures. But my post sesh breakfast was blueberry and strawberry pancakes. Just had lunch. Grilled up some mahi mahi burgers. Made some cole slaw. Actually it was "kale slaw" mixed with fish taco sauce. Threw that on the burgs. Avocado. And some onion. Freaking delicious.

Tonight or tomorrow me and the fiancee are making fig and prosciutto pizza. Well she is making it (one of her trademark meals). I'll make sure to share it with you guys.

So tell us, what'd you eat today

Just got back from a seafood sports bar on the beach. I drank Goose Island 312 on draft, we had Bang Bang Shrimp with jasmine rice and scallions for appetizer. My wife had crab legs and I had the Mahi-Mahi platter, blackened, with rice and grilled zucchini. Good meal. Good beer. Good company. Chill environment.

Yeah. I went overboard this afternoon on the coffee.
I needed it to counter the Buddha Butter's effect of just wanting to melt into a chair.
    Tofu is soybean curd.
Kinda like cheese from milk but not oily. It's pretty versatile in how you cook it.
I like it if it's prepared right. baked in BBQ sauce or like the omelette thingy I had today. Good in curries.
I don't eat eggs, dairy, or meat, but the brownies I had might of had some dairy or egg in them.
I'm pretty good though. Mostly whole plant foods. Simple stuff. Rice, Beans, Fruit, Veggies, Potatoes, Nuts and seeds. Minimal prep.
But there are times I'll get cake or donuts when I'm feeling like today. Once every month or two.

Interesting. I'm a similar way. I won't eat red meat or pork except for rare occasions. Usually it's just fish/poultry. At least as far as meat goes. Today's pancakes were a rare treat for me. Usually don't eat that stuff.

Iv played with the idea of going vegetarian, even if it was just for a little while. Almost half way there anyway. Have been wondering about the whole tofu thing for awhile now.

Idk where you reside, but in my area they are several health food stores and vegan restaurants that are really good. I usually get a tofu dish from the health food store food bar. Pretty darn tasty. I've also followed some recipes and had success in dishes that have become standards. Takes a bit of experimenting to get your taste dialed, but def a healthy protein alternative. Just stay away from the GMO soy. I recommend only eating organic soy. The science may not be out but why risk it. Plus those darn pesticides. Theys be turning the frogs gay so who the fark knows what they are doing to humans.

Cripes people, it's the 4th of July weekend! I chopped up some onions and portabellos and mixed it with good ground angus from the farm down the road for burgers on the grill, marinated sliced squash and zucchini with Italian dressing and grilled that up, a nice cuke and tomato salad with a tad bit of vinegar and olive oil topped with feta, and one of my favorites, grilled corn, straight from Monsanto labs.
All with some ice cold PBR's.

You are still going to die, archy..........

Oh, and btw, as an edit....the "science" is definitely out, has been for years. Tofu must be affecting your reading comprehension......and no respectable Trump supporter eats tofu. What is next- Birkenstock for Arch?? <grin>

It's 7am right now so just having a cup of coffee to start the day. But last night I made fish tacos. I cut up some red cabbage, red onion, and cilantro. I added some lime, a little bit of vegetable oil, and let that sit for a few. I made some tortillas (maseca, water, and a tortilla press). Then grilled up some red snapper. Throw that all together with a little sour cream and salsa on top.
    ....
I made myself hungry just typing this out. For breakfast I think it will be left overs from last night.

    Kabobs on the grill:
Remember to soak wood skewers in water first
Cut up chicken breasts, mushrooms, red onion, small cherry tomatoes, orange and green bell pepper, yellow squash, zucchini. Many other combinations work as well
Cover/soak in Vidalia onion salad dressing.

F soaking those damn skewers. I don't care how long you soak those jokers, they still burn up. I have switched to metal. But, you kabobs sound good!! I take a vidalia and cut it thick and grill that. Mix some powdered thyme and butter and pour a little over the onion as its cooking.
