The water quality has been sh!t all week... and finding a hypodermic needle on the beach made me GLAD there's no waves. ....it is Jerzy, after all...
It's Lake Atlantic in Manasquan today. Still didn't stop a few people from taking out their borts and just laying and floating around on them, as per Summer time usual.
tradeswell picked up a notch here, more otw south pacific has been sleepy in these parts, glad to see obeyville scoring!!!
was pretti hungover today. took out the LB out for some thi to rare stomach, clean glassy conditions. hit up a spot i like to call aftershock on folly. wasn't too crowded, spaced out 30-40 yrds out. got a handful of some short end waves it seemed. no ride too long to make much happen. been bleak like that down here for the week. outta town this wknd, had to get my thrill before i head inland
There's a 1ft @ 14-15 sec East "swell" on the buoy right now, along with 1ft @ 8 sec, should be rideable around lower tides. Maybe get some later, if not it'll be better tomorrow i'm sure.
As predicted, today was way better. I hit it 2hrs before low tide, light offshore wind made conditions clean and green. The 14-15 sec period made for some long waist high lines early and as the tide went out it started firing waist - chest nugs, one right after another, and I caught every wave that came my way. One of the more fun sessions I've had in a while. Now time for grub and IPA's.
Really fun in Volusia County today waist to occasional chest sets. This summer has been better to us than most in my recent memory.
Onshore high tide barely rideable but people in the way every time i catch a wave they come right to me thinking it must be good here i paddled away four different spots i should get a gold star i surfed backwashy not breaking puny slop and did not kill anyone. But i surfed. I rode waves standing up on a surfboard. Pure stoke.
