Gert delivered today... way better than expected for about 4 hours late afternoon. If tomorrow morning is as good, I'm a happy, happy man.
Got some this evening too. I could really feel that long period in the water. Really praying that tmrw is gonna work out for us well. By the time I got out, 8:20ish, swell felt like it dropped a ton, but I'm thinking it was just the tide.
HA! "It's time to go sarfborting kids, get in the Escalade." I didn't make it tonight unfortunatlry, snag a few fun ones? I bet that tide was iffy early on.
Tide was still really high and the waves really didn't have much power, but, I caught a couple decent little rides and then headed home. Still had fun, water was warm and weather was nice.
Gert is already turning more East and picking up speed. By the time it is in position to generate waves past Cape Cod and onto NH, it will be too far, to deep to make anything more than waist high slop for us. A lot of morons around here are pulling out their semi-guns, waxing them up while they drool incessantly into their odorous wetsuits...... Heading to Nazare might be a good idea.......
Tell the truth... you just wanted to show off your 3 monitor set up haha. My I.T. guy would be in my office in about 30 seconds if I started sucking up that much bandwidth.
Only cam locally that gives you the option to use 3 monitors. Wish the cams were covering more to be able to follow from one monitor to the other without missing the entire wave. 3 monitors definitely spoils you. If I go home & just have to work off of the laptop it sucks. 1st world problems.
As of 11AM today, Gert is now lined up with a direct line to give NH waves, however, given that they will be generated from the left rear quadrant of the cyclone as it moves away at 25mph, they will be waist high waves at best, with a 9-10 second period. In other words....garbage.
Great sesh this morning with a bunch of local dudes I haven't surfed with in a while. Waves were clean and fast with the swell having plenty of south in it. Overhead sets... one good barrel. Easy paddle outs for the most part. Lots of current on the inside, but none on the outside. Damn near perfect day... Resting for now... I'll hit it againe in a few.
We had some good ones yesterday head hi sets every now and then , the wind was south at 1 to 3 so pretty clean lines til 1ish then wind picked up and went ssw but a damn good time in the morning
Here's Florida footage.
Ditto... Same here at my local spot. Friends. Waves. No wetsuite. One good barrel lol and many other long rides!
That video is cool, have family in RI and never caught it resembling that. To be fair, everywhere looked that good during Hurricane Bill. And TS Danny. Man, those two storms were like back to back and still go down as some of the best waves I've ever surfed.
I dont know how you can call a wave that doesnt barrel "The best point break on the east coast." THIS is the best point on the east coast. Hands down.
