I have a few clients that tell me their bank will round up each transaction and put the difference into a savings acct. It's like this, only there's little risk of losing it all in the end.
****ing stupid. Investing $.12 at a time is like trying to bail a sinking ship with a shot glass. These cheap investment schemes are set up to swindle a bunch of dumbasses.
Nice spam OP. These shuckers are just out to grab some $$ from unsuspecting SI types. I assume your spam is in the right spot.
They're skimming a 1/4 percent off any balance under 5k. You can do everything they offer on you own. Open an e-trade, Scott trade, etc and do it yourself.
most of those have minimum, up front $ amounts that you have to maintain. i think you are right tho. i could do that myself.
I use Acorns more as a way to make something out of my "change" when I break a dollar with my debit card. The returns on mico investing are minimal (even in the long run) but I view Acorns as a way to stash away a couple hundred bucks over a few months in a relatively painless way. Set up reminders to take $5 a week from your checking account, use your debit card and pocket the change, and before you know it you'll have $500 bucks sitting there. For example, I started just over a month ago and have an account balance of $120. Sure this is money I had all along, but its isolated enough that you have to make a conscious decision to want it. You're sure as hell not going to retire off Acorns, but if you're saving for a flight this winter it's an easy way to make sure you don't spend what you're saving.
You spend what you are trying to save?? No discipline, is it?? Or are you guys THAT poor??? GET A ****ING JOB!!!!!!!!
o barry, the government sets such a good example on how to balance a budget, how can I do any better?
