it's hard to take these pros serious about climate control when all of their tailpads, ropes, wetties, boardbags, clothing are made in coal factory powered plants in china and other overseas factories with terrible to no pollution controls.

If they (we) want less pollution, bring the manufacturing back to the US where there is tighter regs.

I believe in this sentiment. There is a price to pay one way or another for our decisions. You can't claim to be an environmentalist and take private jets, limousines, etc. You can't lecture people about the environment and endorse industry's that destroy that very same environment. It reminds me of a fat person saying they believe in animal rights, explain to me how you care about animals when your over consuming their flesh and leaving parts of them dead on your plate. Explain how you care about children as you advocate cultural changes that lead them down paths that are known to lead to lifelong health and emotional problems.

The end truth is we are all hypocrites. The main difference being some of us realize it and are willing to admit the inconsistencies and work towards a solution. The other side likes to shout and lecture while secretly enjoying the fruits of their self dishonesty. Start making pads here and I will buy them if you can prove how your helping the planet.

I never use traction pads, BOOM, I'm saving the environment. Say 'No' to pads.

Based on this, I think you could probably find any sort of surf gear you need, made here in the USA. Will it all be environmentally friendly? Doubtful, but that's ok as long as they are not claiming to be?

did you hear about how the chinese gov't temporarily shut down an entire region's factories, and the residents saw the blue sky for the first time in recent memory? Sounds like they are well on their way...
