I can't complain. I have a good job, a good vehicle, a nice place to live and good family. Only complaint is I haven't surfed in a couple weeks, or fished.

Life is great--could use a few more waves than what has recently been here, but I've milked that wave cow my whole life, so it isn't that important.
Going Xmas shopping today with the Mrs.......

Everything great here. Slowly growing my business, son is at college (a bit of a learning curve on that front) just purchased a vacation lake home in Maine that we have been saving for since forever. I haven't been surfing much, sprained my ankle renovating the Maine house so been out of commission for the last 3 weeks. Fishing is getting good, caught 25 stripers to 23 inches in hour on Sunday. Exactly how is this not a circle jerk?

Surfing in a lull in NE lately but cold weather means all the big ski areas up north are ramping up snow making which is great.

Just back from a few days in the Finger Lakes. Nice scenery... tons of great wineries... had the whole family (five of us) plus two of my kids brought friends... So seven of us in a house on a lake for 4 days. Good times...

    Pheasant season is open.

    The stripers are running.

Now if we could only get some surf.

    Glad you guys are well!

Glad there is is this non-jerk thread...

I just bought a house from a hoarder... Cool stuff I found:4 cameras: 2 Minolta film cameras 2 relatively new Cannon Rebel series cameras, 10.5 and 12.5 pixel, 10 lenses all name brand some still in boxes. A coffee can full of wheat pennies and a royal crown bag with a dozen silver coins.
Numerous tool boxes filled with some descent hand tools, A metal craftsmen table saw, A wood lathe and a standing belt and disc sander.

Crazy ass stuff I've found... 2 crack pipes, a box of stems and seeds and a pot pipe, A hanging bar and a pair of gravity boots a la "American Gigolo"

Horrible and depressing things I've found... Journals about re-hab, Numerous attempts... Ids from half-way houses. Dozens of self help books, Dozens of empty subscription bottles for various re-hab drugs, Dozens of over the counter bottles for sleeping, detoxification, anxiety...

Disgusting Things: 3 FULL refrigerators and freezers full of expired food, a dishwasher filled with packaged expired food 10 cupboards and a pantry filled with boxed and canned food covered with cockroaches.

Have a 30 yard dumpster full to the brim and still have a few trailers of appliances to haul away.

Scrubbing everything and blasting every night with an ozone generator, plus priming and repainting everything.

Won't hit water again until Thanksgiving.

A little busy with this mess, but it is a "diamond in the rough..."

That sounds awesome, I would love to do that kinda work. I know it's difficult but an adventure and treasure hunt wrapped into one.

I'm heading to FL this weekend to visit a college friend who is terminally ill, so that sucks, but hopefully we can share some laughs about old times, and maybe provide a bit of comfort.

On a brighter note, my daughter gets home from college Sunday for Thanksgiving. Her first time home since going to Colorado, so really looking forward to that, and so is she.

Surfwise, back has been tweaky, but still getting in some sessions. I have begun a regular core workout to strengthen up my aging body, and get back to my usual snappy pop up.

Send some here as well! It's fun to catch hordes of fish but it would be nice to get a keeper at least once.

Not much new here, surfwise or other. Did get out and got some nice black grouper in 20-30 ft (3-4 miles) off the coast along with a nice flounder. Sweet deal. Done by 2 PM, cleaned up and on the grill.
What's better than getting a new boat? I'll tell you. The neighbor getting a new boat. The guy I go way offshore with sold his 2 old boats and got a 40 ft sport fish. Whooo hooo! The thing is a fishing machine and with 2 bedrooms, full kitchen and hot showers it will be way better than spending the night on the deck of a center console. The kicker is he spent $625,000 on this thing. Man it must be nice to be rich but I'll take living across the bay from a rich guy who invites you fishing for now.
Surf wise the gulf has been slow with a front approaching on Sat and surf on Sunday waist to chest with onshore. I'll take that at the moment.

Selling my first home, a condo bought in 2012, for a pretty good profit. We got a full ask offer for it less than a week from it being listed, and are now in attorney review. Looking for a new place, a house this time, for the boy and dog to have a yard of there own, and to get away from our creepy neighbor.

My dog is nearly completely recovered from her second acl surgery. She had one completely torn acl and the other was 85% torn and the knee had been poping in and out of place. Had the first surgery in April and 2nd in September. Dang rescue dog has now cost me about 10k for both these surgeries, but she is still young, just turned 4 so we could delay no longer (thankful for interest free credit cards). She will have pretty bad arthritis in both knees since we delayed the surgery for so long but is back to running around and causing trouble with the boy.

A word of advise, if you have a dog get the pet insurance and do not delay. We did delay getting the insurance and since the original injury happened within 18 months of her finally tearing it the insurance company would not pay.
