I've said this before but there's no way this is true at all. This is a surf forecast site primarily not a social platform for surfers. Most people don't click on the forum and that's fine but please spare me the 'we're so important to the business of SI and they'll miss us if we all leave' schtick. Are you all in 6th grade?

The site makes money through ads. If Google, etc... start putting the domain onto NSFW lists due to content or posting, then the regular SI user who just wants to see if Belmar is at 20' or 23' can't visit it from their work computer, that's a real problem for the SI business. It's sofa king basic to understand and yet 50% of the content here now is people crying that it's not Reddit.

 

Get your head out your ass Wavestorm....this place was off the chain a couple of years ago, it wasn't until this current company bought it and made it shall I say "commercial", back in the day we used to have a dig at someone and move on....today society in a whole gets so effing butthurt over the smallest of things...all I have to say is don't try and cut me off I will surely make you feel small....and if you have a problem......WELL....old school dude.

It's primarily a weather info site...(Thank God it's mostly accurate!) The forum is an amusing sideshow...on rare occasion educational. Seldom tells me anything that will actually benefit my surfing. I think the existence of the "non-circle-jerk" thread subtly tells you what the majority of users really think about the forum and the majority of its content..

as far as surfcasting goes,theres a boatload more out there than this place lol,first off I go by the weather channel,second there are live surf cams I can check on my phone before I even get out of bed or off of work.i'll check the actual forecast when I know theres a storm coming just to see the projections.in the past when the forume was cool id check the cast everyday,but technology advanced since then

This is all that Clownface guys fault! Before he showed up everything was wonderful. It's like the Admin burned down the forest to stop the wolf. Clownface really hurt my feelings and ruined my day numerous times instead of banning everyone we should get a lynch mob together and kill him once and for good. I heard he is some paramilitary psycho who smuggled guns to Fiji while surfing maxed out cloudbreak. His girlfriend is beautiful and he lives in 3 mansions with secret rooms full of gold. So we will need like at least a 30 man team to take him out. There is a rumor that he got jumped by 5 people and he killed them all with a shoelace and number 2 pencil. This clownface is a master at computer science and has major connections. nobody knows this but he is a bodyboarder and his beef with Colin is about a Coke deal gone bad 15 years ago where Colin made off with a fat sack of Yayo. Clownface in return hired thugs to daterape Colin and give him AIDS. Then he impregnated his wife.

 

I've enjoyed the sitting around the bonfire, shooting the breeze and drinking beer aspect of it.
