Got an online deal for an O'neill Reactor 3/2. Had a nice sesh and tried to unzip...nope. This thing had jammed so bad there was no moving it up or down. Went home in the suit and had my wife work on it for about 30-40 minutes with various tools ( pliers, screwdriver etc) with no luck. I finally got so stressed that I cut the damn thing off through the rubber at the shoulder so I could just get OUT. I have never had a zipper get this bad. Been through some moments when they jam and then work it loose at some point. This thing is still stuck and the third party that sold it to me is saying go to O'niell. O'neill says third party is responsible... Anyone been stuck so bad that the zipper just will not move? Asked around and no one I know has had this happen to them. I have never felt claustrophobic before-this got me in spaz mode.
That sucks! Next time go with Rip Curl! HA HA Sorry about your new suite and no, I have never had anything like that happen to me.
https://thesecretyumiverse.wonderho...-items-can-unstick-your-stuck-zipper-0146721/ They left out the best method. lather zipper with Whale Jizz.
He's trying to get out of a wet suite... We don't need to know your kinky sex fantasies!!! My zipper was stuck once and I asked a random women for some help. She was on her cell and she told the person she was talking to, "Hold on. I'm helping a man get undressed."
candle wax first next time (the oil from the wax won't stain or run). run a candle up and down the zipper then unzip.
Sounds like a factory defect on the zipper. Should have bought from a local surfshop so you have someone to throw the suite at when it sucks.
Update-Oniell is going to replace. Some of these responses were umm...helpful. I did try some of them but uh KY? No. (Indiana Jones- more like full on freak out)
The older I get and the worse my shoulders get.......I'm more or less trapped every time I try to get out of my suits. My 5 mil usually requires someone to help.
I have the opposite problem, trying to zip up my oneill mutant. You have to put both ends of the zipper together, then hold em at an odd uncomfortable angle while you try and line up the zipper and zip it. If your first few attempts fail, arm fatigue sets in, and then it all goes really badly from there. Fortunately the mutant is retired until April. Rip Curl 6/5 integrated zip to the rescue.
