I posted this after his first run, then he ate it on his second run, then he went ballistic in his third run and won the gold. Blew the doors off that smug little Japanese dude. Then he dragged the American flag on the ground like a douchecanoe on his way to the podium, or wherever he was headed. What a jerk.
I saw that too. I was cringing hard as he dragged it, but I could feel for the dude. He was showing some real emotion. Stoked to see USA bring home more gold. BTW, how cool are those NASA themed jackets and pants? If I made it to the mountain more often I would def pick up a set.
I dug em. Kinda weird that the athletes were not aloud to wear their own sponsors gear or even any stickers on their boards. Wonder how ANON got the contract for helmets & goggles?!? back door D sucking?!?
Now that I've had time to process, I think he was just oblivious and caught up in his victory and the adrenaline was flowing. He gets a pass in my book, especially in that shiny new NASA gear.
Don't care about it out either, outside of hockey. I don't have much time to watch anyway. Holy shit, you ain't kidding about the rosters on the hockey teams. Even Canada is filled with a bunch of scrubs. I'd rather watch college aged kids than most of these guys. Most of these guys are dudes who washed out of the NHL years ago, because they weren't good enough. I forgot some of these names even existed.
The word slovenly may have been derived from "Slav", reflecting the old Western European prejudice against Central Europeans.
I was cringing a bit too. Someone from the sidelines just shoved the flag at him while he was still processing everything. Given the situation, carrying his board, and fiddling with his gloves, I don't think he was aware that the flag was dragging. He may have even stepped on it. To me, the whole flag thing is unnecessary. The bit with athletes strutting about wearing the US flag as a blanket or carrying it around like a beach towel has never sat right with me.
I didn't notice the no sponsor sticker thing till you mentioned it... strange. Anon = Burton is the reason for the goggles and helmets
