JMHO, but Reuters, Al Jazeera and WSJ seem to do a pretty good job of reporting without injecting bias. I believe there are media outlets that still exist that are a credit to true journalism.

One man's truth is another man's lie.

To say "there is no truth" would appear to be a contradictory statement. To make such an assertion would require a comprehensive knowledge of all things, and thus the ability to deem them all as false. However, having such knowledge would imply a knowledge of the truth.

That being said, I concur that trying to distill the truth from the various media requires discernment. It is unfortunate that we tend to be dumb as sheep in the context of the complexities of reality, and can be easily led astray.

Keep your head on a swivel buoys and be ready for the clean up set and rouge waves, in the line up and in life.

    Peace

No it is not--it is a perception, nothing more. You are defending your religious views (that there is a "Truth", deity), albeit in hiding. But that is okay--that is your perception, your truth. Nobody else's. Certainly not mine.

Barry, the common ground, to which I agree with you, is that no human has the complete truth. The existence of an omniscient deity is another topic, to which I as well, respect your view, even if it differs from mine.

    Peace.

Don't make the truth out to be more (or less) than it is.

"I have been married to the same woman for 25 years." = truth

    "I am a great surfer." = subjective/objective

But has she been married to you for 25 years? That could change the truth if the answer is no. Legally she may have been, but was she faithful all those years? Could be yes, could be no. How could you really know because you weren’t there every second of every day to verify with your own eyes.

So the truth here, if there is one , would be your perspective on the situation. But if it’s not the same perspective that she has, than there is no longer truth unless she of course shares her perspective in all its honesty, and then at which point your current truth / perspective is shattered, but you gain a new truth / perspective, a shared perspective and understanding to which you both have come to know and understand.

So if you believe it to be true it’s true until further evidence comes along and changes that.

Truth through faith is different than conclusive evidence... truth is based on facts no? Using the word truth in the context that is convenient to your point is opinion and using the word truth as a statement of fact can't be argued...conclusive. So I still wonder, is there nothing conclusive? Can we not find truth in anything? I think context matters.

^DP the truth may or may not set you free huh lol...

Makes you wonder huh? lol I believe the truth can set you free, but only if you are willing to accept the truth as truth. If anything inside you has doubt then it is not truth.

You must have zero doubt and acceptance of somehing in order for it to be YOUR truth / perspective. That I believe is what faith is about.

You have to go on faith that what you “know” or have learned is in fact the truth. If you have doubts, then it hasn’t become truth to you yet. In which case, it is left as unknown, and your wonderous thought process will continue asking questions until you arrive at truth you can accept or you just leave it as an unknown while always in search of the absolute truth.

And that’s what I think life is all about, finding absolute truths and finding the meaning behind our existence and accepting it.

You still haven't done so. Your example is from the bottom of the toilet - classless, although quite funny. BTW, in case you haven't figure it out yet, I am not from New England.....

You live there now, you breathe the air there. You generalized all NJ surfers as being assholes in PR. Bar none you said. Well, that classifies you as an uppity prick New Englander. You can't refute my "crap is a fact" claim claim so you call it classless. I could say you almost sound like a liberal Barry.

You are migrating--I never said a thing about fact, only truth. If you took a crap, it was yours, you say, therefore you can believe it is your truth. A turd in the bowl is NOT evidence. You would still have to prove it is your turd.
As for being a liberal, who cares what politics a person ascribes to?? Both sides are assholes.
Also, I am purposely being a prick TO WAKE THIS BOARD UP. You have been woken!! Go forth and procreate!!
