Any Betty sightings? She hasn't been on here in ages either. I hope her health is OK. She gave me good advise when I was sick. I don't how to PM on here since they changed it so let her know the boys are wishing her well. Hope you are well too brotha

I also have been concerned aboot Betty. She hasn't been around here in over a month. I don't have contact with Betty outside of the forum other than via PM or in person when I see her at the secret inlet and I haven't been up there since late November. I have sent her a PM and hopefully hear something back. My wife has the phone number of one of Betty's posse so I will try to find something out via that route later.

Also, perhaps FLsurfdog knows something aboot Betty's status. Dog, have you been down that way lately?

Nah, she has posted after that. Her last post was aboot five weeks ago in the flu shots tread.

I hope I hear back from her via PM but not really expecting to, at least not right away. Might be able to get some info from the other Betty that my wife has the phone number of. Despite being very open with me aboot some things Betty has never given me her number or even an email address. She guards her privacy and I respect that.

I have heard back from her. She said she will post here when things settle down a bit. Let's just say she has been dealing with some tough stuff. If anybody has any extra positive vibes they can send to our den mother and prognosticator of tropical incests please do so. Betty could sure use them right now.

 

When I signed on this morning, early, I noticed Betty was signed on as well.

 

Perhaps this should go to the Admin, but could you put the high and low tides throughout the day? For instance, i'm seeing low tide at 4am and hi tide at 10am but no low/high tides reported in the PM. Around where i'm at, we surf based on the tides. It'd be helpful to provide so i don't have to check another site to find out the exact time

so crucial here in Charleston; even if they're predicting chest hi's you can get screwed on what time of the day you jump in. Never even thought of it before when i was younger surfing FL. About to start hanging my tides table at work though

 

Yeah it is an issue here too, if the swell is small then high tide is no bueno 99% of the time.

It usually takes a swell larger than 3-4 feet to break on a higher tide, but even then it can be too deep and swamped out.

The moon phase has some to do with it too. There are a couple of spots that will break on a higher tide more often than others but those spots are far and few between and are not a 100% to work every time either.

You just have to be in tune with your breaks and pay attention to what they are doing day after day and you start to have instincts of when it will work and when it won’t.
