Today I set off upon my Swellinfo pilgrimage, to surf the fabled shores of Belmar. As I flew up the turnpike dreaming of bench presses and 23 footers, I could barely withhold the excitement and started applying my vasoline and slipping into my wetsuite before I even laid eyes on the fabled exit 7A.

Finally turning eastward I was beckoned every 5 miles by the signs...Belmar Belmar Belmar, like some mosquito light beckoning in kooks from every stretch of the eastern Pennsylvania border.

Upon my arrival I was disappointed to still see the winds being devilish from the direction of my homelands, so I ventured north to cross a great river full of sharks. While still within eyesight of our fabled motherland, I was greeted with long lines and glorious shacks. Sharing the lineup with numerous anonymous posters on this boarde, we traded slight glances and poo faced stares, they were clearly not pleased at thr invasion of this foreigner from the Dornish lands of the south.

I was not discouraged, for I finally was able to shred our nest of swellish info, and now I can finally say I am a real surfborder.

Amazing! I'm really excited that you made the pilgrimage, it's a must for every surfborter, if they were to call themselves a surfborter.

Have you considered relocating? I'm sure you could find an amazing house by the beach in the resort town of Belmar and enjoy all the daily Belmar living. You could even rent a summer cottage, I would suggest 16th to 18th Ave for an easy walk home from Djais restaurant, fun for the whole family!

Glad you enjoyed your stay! Did you notice the warmer water? You can thank the laboradors for that!

    You new bff

I was road tripping from Baltimore back to Rhode Island a little over a month ago and ended up missing the 95 Deleware and Jerz trpk exit and took the Old 95 that goes through Philly (my first time ever not taking the turnpike), cut through after the city back to 95 turnpike and saw the fabled sign..... I was in a hurry and did not have time to stop Mr Belmar, and it will always be a cross I must bear, but I did smile and think of this forumme..

Brohemian....i will try and word this as a poem...

    If you are commuting
    And already polluting
    Just drive the extra 45
And surf the fabled shores of Belmar
over the mushy waves of Delmar
Unless you have a 16 inch pee
In which case your probably bringing the ski

Can confirm, used to live on A street between 16th and 18th.

I'm irrationally proud of the fact that I've never been inside djais after sundown between memorial day and labor day. Plenty of free food happy hours and pre-season/post-summer nights though. And, most importantly, the locals-only party (have to show ID with belmar address to get in), i.e. the social event of the year. Tons of food, open bar, completely free.

I’d say the social event of the year would have to be the belmar pro after party
