    Hello,

This is a HOME surfboard shaped in Lavalette, NJ around the 1970's. The board is solid and has minor cosmetic issues consistent with its age.

I am trying to get an understanding of how much this board is worth

Cleaned up, no wax I say $100 - $125. Super detailed and marketed at the right time, like two months from now $175 - $200. This is just my guess.

I agree $250 tops most likely less. Maybe if you found someone emotionally attached to the Home Brand, you could get more.

Same answer I give every old board value question: Its not worth a dime more than you can find someone willing to pay the cash to take it off your hands.

To me its not even worth $100. To that guy Roy supposedly sold a board to it might be worth $1,000,000. Good luck finding that guy.

1970's? Looks more like '69 to me!

Not with a fin box and removable fin. Dewey Weber was first doing those late 60s, then a few major shapers followed in the 70s. And that was in California, not New Jersey.

Nj was doing shaping/board design on par with everybody else since before that.

Looks like a stiff hunk of junk, but if you take it to Eric at Beach House in Bay Head he can take care of you as to value. Clean it first! I sell my used boards through him, and he knows more nj/board history than anyone else i know.

Nope. Not one East Coast shaper was. Especially NOT NJ.
In fact, they still are not. West Coast is "speed of light" ahead of EC.

As an edit, keep in mind, it is just my opinion above, nothing more.

There was a time way back when that top shapers were collaborating with locals, even relocating sometimes and doing good shapes/designs in jersey and long island. But that was long ago.

And lynn shell/scott busbey in nc and some florida shapers have been as good or better than anyone elsewhere this entire time over 40 years, now.
