There “real talk” and there’s “consistently saying ridiculously dumb sh!t that everyone around you has to explain how that’s not what you really meant”

This is exactly what I was getting at.

Anyone remember when he said the John McCain was a loser and said he was not a "war hero" because he was a POW?

If someone would have come into my home growing up and said that, they would have been run out of the house by my old man with a shotgun. That's not a joke. You did not **** around with disrespecting the military, specifically Vietnam vets in our house. Same rule applies in mine.

I agree with you however McCain is a “Never Trumper” and has been part of the resistance from the beginning and has said negative things toward or about Trump promoting that response from him. Not saying it’s right, but it takes two to tango, he doesn’t attack people for no reason, it’s always a retaliation to something.

I dunno DP. I understand your feelings for Trump and I'm generally happy with the direction our policies have taken.

But I'll reiterate that I believe a much larger portion of Americans on both sides of the aisle would like to see someone more moderate running the show. And the body of this board solidly bears that out.

We could use more McCain and a lot less Palin.

Agree to disagree. McCain is useless as a politician, I feel bad for his health and all but he isn’t helping anything, he’s just another obstructionist.

Moderate how? Trump’s policies aren’t extreme. They are just to the right of center for the most part. He’s actually one of the most moderate Republicans there are, no surprise considering he was a Democrat at one point.

Are you referring to his temperament or personality? You people have to stop worrying about such meaningless things such as that.

    His policies aren't extreme...

But his actions aren't meaningless... You people need to stop saying that the presidents public, childish ations are meaningless. He represents the US and it's citiznens. Having the president acting like a global embaressment is not meaningless.

Getting upset about his personality is a sign of emotional instability. His words do not affect my life one way or the other. His policies however do.

I’m not an emotional type so I don’t get wrapped up in the drama. It really is meaningless, unless you allow it to have meaning in your life.

That’s what’s wrong with America right now, too many people have emotional issues when it comes to politics. Step back, take a deep breathe, assess your life and ask yourself what is important and what really matters.

If Trump saying something you don’t like or agree with is at the top of your list of things to care about then I don’t know what to tell you. But that is one way to get upset over trivial things.

He has mocked "acting presidential" numerous times. It's not his stylee.

The most important issues he is addressing domestically right now is trade, taxes, and budget. I think he is doing ok not great. While trade is global, trade negotiations and their outcome is front and center domestically...he is rocking the boat and upsetting the apple cart (steel for instance). But, in the end will hopefully net a more favorable situation for US.

Congress totally jacked the recent budget. Spending way too much. He is trying to pear it back...will be very difficult to do so with The dynamic of the Senate currently.

I really hope to see the individual tax cut made permanent and a much leaner budget. Time will tell.

You should want DJT to stop acting like a fool if for no other reason that you want him for a 2nd term...
He has his followers and they aren't going anywhere... But I do think every time he sends a stupid tweet it may motivate someone to vote that normally wouldn't
It's not that it bothers me. He hasn't insulted me...

Not caring about how the President of the US represents you across the world is a sign of someone that isn't well traveled and does not leave the US often... You may not realize it, but people around the world view the president of the US and his opinions as the opinions of Americans.

That’s funny because his foreign policy has been great. He is getting more respect than the previous president from a lot of nation leaders. He is making things happen. Maybe even a peace deal with North Korea, if they are for real, time will tell on that.

Macron from France and Trump are like bros now. There’s a lot of hype from the media about Trump’s antics but these leaders really don’t care about that. They care about his policies. Like him or hate him, he is getting more respect from foreign leaders than he is getting right here at home, and that’s sad.

Perhaps if he wasn’t always being attacked from every angle he could let his guard down some and be more likeable but that’s not going to happen with the media the way it is and people eating it up with a spoon.

He’s a fighter, if someone takes a shot, he hits back but harder. That’s what he has been forced to do, his back is against the wall.

I agree with NN on the global appearance but let's be honest, many people around the world (including allies) despise "Americans" and did so well before the Donald. I like that he is projecting strength and not nation building. His presidential maneuvers have enhanced in some ways a more positive light while his personal antics and his immature tweets have shed a much dimmer light. Still better than having Hillary. Hell he and Macron practically French kissed lol!

One more thing... Why is it that when

DJT insults POWs Americans that don't like it are emotional instable and need to grow a thicker skin, because his words don't actually effect anyone...

But when football player kneels (which I'm pretty sure doesn't have an affect on your life) it's DEFCON5 and boycott time.

I don’t like the players kneeling, but I didn’t boycott, I kept my Sunday Ticket. It’s stupid but I don’t get emotional about it, it’s their right.

Also, please be fair, DJT did not insult all POW’s, he insulted John McCain in a retaliation.

Not trying to split hairs here but his exact words were: "I like people who weren't captured", which to me means if you got captured he doesn't like you.

On the retaliation thing... you give him a pass because it was in retaliation?

This reminds me of when I was elementary school, someone said something hurtful about my mother, so I tackled them to the ground. My teacher broke us up took me aside. She taught me that the person who retaliates is usually the one who gets in trouble and looks like an idiot. I was six years old...
