That is a briefcase, you meathead!!! Not a suitcase. Having said that, it could contain the same "ingredients".

Took out the Hobie early this morning and we had our maiden voyage in some thigh to waist waves. I brought a leash in case I wanted it, but it felt like a sin to put a rope on her. I opted to go leashless. Went swimming a few times but I didn’t mind. To keep it short, it was some of the most fun I’ve ever had on a log. I love the extra weight for the speed and ease of entry. A lot of good rides trimming the face for a long ways, both backside and frontside, a few weak cutbacks and did my best attempt at cross stepping. Going back out tmrw. Should be able to get a few shots from my photog.
Wow suite find! That a nice board and shape! Was the color added later at some point? About how much did you pay? Glad you liked it so far...some of my favorite and memorable sessions have been on an old style board like that... and with waves like this morning it's the perfect time to get it out for the first time. I was actually going to paddle out yesterday (waves where chest to hh) on my 64 10'... but with no leash and all the ppl in the water I didn't want to take a chance for others safety. Those old boards really arnt hard to ride, it's just different.... and tons of fun! Stoked you found a nice board!
Yeah brother! I’m super pumped on it. I know we were talking logs not too long ago. I’m pretty sure it’s all orig color work. Paid $350. The thing is in really great condition considering the age. I had to fill a few glass cracks and do some small patch work, but otherwise it’s a solid vessel. I’m actually really going to be looking forward to knee high waves now. Ive always been impressed with the whole cross-stepping and noseriding thing, so thats what I’m going to work towards on the smaller days.
