U.S. Bombs anybody? Their shows were so damn fun. I remember seeing them a few times and they never disappointed. I actually still have this CD.
I saw SNFU play a show with Gang Green and Flipper in the mid 80s. SNFU blew Flipper off the stage, and gave Bostonian Budweiser - swilling Gang Green a run for their money. Great forgotten band.
Just saw dropkick murphy last night. Was never really a fan of them. Didn't hate them, just wasn't in to them. But man, what a super friendly pit. Im used to death metal and hardcore shows where the pit is violent. I don't know about other places but in NY you got "gangs" that will target dance. If you hit one of there guys... your getting targeted and jumped in the pit. If your not moving.... watch out. They will throw a huge haymaker. It's pretty brutal and lame. Big reason why i don't go to those shows often anymore. To old for that shit. But last night... just a big lazy circle pit. When people fell, everyone stopped to help them up instead of stomping them out. No stupid tough guy drama. Just good ol fun. Still not a fan or anything. But id see them again. It was a blast
My surf soundtrack for today. I was a little tired so I put this CD in to wake up! Good waves require good music...
Pretty great bands, I liked a lot of bands from the east coast (in addition to the souls)....latex generation from Long Island, digger, plow United and Weston (very poppy, the singer is the lead man for beach slang now) from the Lehigh valley. Other epitaph bands not mentioned that are good..10 foot pole and pulley
10 Foot Pole and Pulley are good, seen em both a couple times. I remember the pit was insane when this song was played...
