Tourists might be more moronic than surfers. Two guys needed to be airlifted from the beach from "surf related" injuries this weekend. The surf forecast was for 1-2 foot waves. How does that happen? http://6abc.com/2-men-suffer-surf-related-injuries-at-del-beaches/3690108/

I've been in some rocky situations over the years, at Ocean Reef (novice stupidity), Blowing Rocks (leash failurre), Pumphouse (death pit waves) and Domincal Point (more leash failurre). No bueno. Just remember, let the boart take the impact, you can always fix or replace it. Use it as a shield if necessary, and a spring board to higher ground if totally desperado ( it never got to that point thankfully). Keep cool and remember, nobody is going to help, they will be on their phones mocking and you'll be in the next video. It helps if you laugh out loud at yourself as it goes down, it keeps things light.
I never had any bad cases with rocks before, most of the spots I surf don't have jetties just sandy beaches.i seen 2 kids tho get swept into the rocks on a norteaster, they kind of did everything right but not really, the sideshore current was pulling heavy north and they went out at the end of the beach and after the first 2 waves they were right infront of the rocks.they should've been on the left side of the jetty and paddled out right along it and they would've ended in the middle of the beach
