    Looks like Chris will form
    As of 8:00 am EDT Fri Jul 6 2018 ...

    Showers and thunderstorms are increasing in association with a
    well-defined low pressure system located a few hundred miles
    southeast of the North Carolina coast. Environmental conditions
    are expected to be conducive for additional development of this
    system, and a tropical depression is likely to form over the next
    couple of days while the system moves slowly northwestward and
    stalls or meanders near the coast of North Carolina over the
    weekend. Interests along the North Carolina and South Carolina
    coasts should monitor the progress of this system during the next
    several days.

    * Formation chance through 48 hours...high...70 percent.
    * Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent.

    flhurricane.com:

    “This is now up to an 80% chance for development, the GFS and Euro start development in earnest on Sunday, however the GFS is much stronger, developing the system into a Hurricane by late Tuesday offshore of Wilmington, NC. and slides it northeast, with the northern eyewall clipping Hatteras.midday Wednesday, then out to sea by Thursday, before curving back in for a second landfall in Central Maine on July 13th.

    Thx for the update Betty! Time to go start up the chainsaw and generator. The more I prep the less likely we are to actually get hit LOL.

    Actually, we would all like to see Chris move out to sea a bit for more fetch and less blow out winds, right? Then, after providing lots of waves for all you NC/SC losers, it can work its way to provide us losers with some waves.
    Up until Beryl slut gets up to us...........<grin>

    Flhurricane.com re TD 3

    “4:30PM EDT Update 6 July 2018
    Invest 96L has become TD 3 a few hundred miles southeast of the North Carolina coast. The cyclone may pull up nearly stationary, or just meander, and cook, over anomalously warm waters in this region for several days. A potential significant threat if it turns toward the U.S., and needs to be watched.“

    With the shift in track, looking like a system that pushes most of the swell towards Nova Scotia.

    We got the goods yesterday from Chris. Getting clean to the north of us today. Sideshore but clean conditions, long lines. lotta lefts, def took some rights too tho since it was north to south kinda swell - constantly getting out of the water to walk back to the landing spot. landed at 8th St E knowing the drift prior. i pushed hard for the 90 min window i had. took out the 6'9 greg loehr board n proved to be killa during the sess. lotta longboards, so i was a loner with the smaller but its size proved to be helpful. still got eyes all week on it, waiting for a good clean up maybe DP session mid-week

    Chris has been providing for 4 days now...

    Sunday was the best of the weekend. Got a solid 3 hours at SCP. Really fun from the very first wave.

    Before work this am was chunky but kind of closing out. 9'2 Stewart HPLB worked great and made holding my ground against the drift a breeze.

    Gonna be an awesome week.

    It’s gonna be really nice to get some waves with push up here... it’s been as flat as my pulse was watching the latest stars wars movie.

    My answer to being too fat for a short boart
    8’4” Roger Beal fish... works like a charm on punchy hollow days after hooricanes. At least until I fall off or burn someone with my vicious bottom turn
