Was at the beach on Sunday, chilling with my wife under the umbrella, and we spotted a big shadow cruising along the shoreline. I grabbed my mask, and ran down the beach for a bit, and swam out ahead of it's path to try to watch it swim by without spooking it. It was a beautiful, very thick eagle ray, and after it glided past me, I looked it in the eye and it accelerated with three rapid wing beats, and it flew out of the water. I may have spooked it, or just made the ray want to show off. Who knows? Another one swam by a moment later.

We had two sittings over the holiday - one at the same beach I surf and another south of it in Scituate. Supposed to be a 18-20’ white. Don’t know if it was tagged or not and one was confirmed because of the state police choppers doing the dragonfly over the water for an hour, but the other one is only LE word of mouth so I have my questions. BUT, we have had several 15+foot sharks crushing around here the last year or two - can’t figure it out since all the seals are down south on Cape Cod by the thousands. I swear sometimes I get that feeling in my head and gut like an elevator dropping quick, when I see shadows under me but mostly I don’t thinknabout it. Imagine how all of the crew here who surf in truly hairy locales feel. If they can rip in shark infested waters, I can suck it up on my cheesy New England break I guess lol
Looks like she had been smoking some Asian weed. She looks so happy and cant hear the cries of horror of what's happening behind her. RIP BARRY
Big sharkie balls!! I’m afraid I’m gonna piss off the 18’er running around here and she’s gonna chase my ass up onto the sand line that lol
Shark swimming around, looking at fish, saying hello to fisherman and then bam gets hit with a paddle. That's what made the shark so angry.
