I looked up the 2016 numbers and renewables was 60% and Fossil Fuels was 25% of energy subsidies....seems like that is what is happening. We can't just stop using fossil fuels...world economy will probably use it until it is gone. In the meantime, I am all for renewable development.

How long do I have to wait? I gave him the first year, but at some point dude has to be held accountable for his actions....

Any move away from the current system would be disruptive, just to varying degrees. Paradigm shifting changes are almost all born from disruption.

If only we could go back and see if you gave Obama the same courtesy.

Look, Trump made some of the most ridiculous campaign promises in election history. He needs to live up to them. He aimed high and that comes with big expectations.

You don’t know me like that lol, I actually was kinda pumped at first when Obama was elected because he broke the race barrier. I didn’t vote for him but I pulled for him once elected just like I have pulled for every President since I have been alive.

I didn’t offer any opinion of him until after his 1st term was done and I realized what he was all about.

O'Kyle, every politician makes promises they don't keep. Look back at O's campaign...he was appeasing the middle (not middle class...middle of the political spectrum) of the country to get elected. He got lucky to get elected second term (thanks to Romney and the 47% vid).

I actually agree with the Tariff negotiations. Not so much the way Trump handled Canada but otherwise, I am hopeful he comes out ahead...especially with China. Same with NATO.

The thing that gets me (and Kyle was right about this), he is not pushing to lower our national debt. Tax cuts alone will not do it. It will take a paradigm shift in congress and I ain't holding my breath there.

Every politician does, but how many went to podium touting they will be the single greatest job producing president ever, or to build a wall AND have Mexico pay for it, 6% GDP growth, eliminate the US debt by second term (it was $19.9 trillion when he made that promise). He has gotten the taxes done, I can't argue with that. But there has so be some kind of consequence for making such ridiculous promises that are unattainable (especially in an 8 year window). If not, we are just lowering the bar as a society as to how much we will allow politicians to lie to us.

Barry broke promises, but he didn't promise to fix everything. Trump did.

So as far as I'm concerned the bar is (if he gets 2 terms): 25 million jobs, a FREE wall along our southern border, 6% GDP and a surplus by 2024. Good luck Donald, and I mean that sincerely.

I still do and will probably always will believe that when Barack Obama brought Hillary (and Bill) into his cabinet, he sealed his fate. That was the end of the Barack Obama that I voted for in 2008 (and also the reason I didn't in 2012).

He has kept a ton of his promises already and he's just getting started. Give him a chance guys. And he has been fighting an uphill battle since day one. No President has faced this kind of resistance before. Dude is a winner and won't be denied. One way or the other he's getting the job done. The optics aren't always pretty, but the results are
    This we can agree on.

And that might have been the beginning of this descent for the Democratic Party. They forced Hillary upon Barack because they thought the Sec of State cred would help her in 2016. So they ruin Obamas admin for nothing plus she was a terrible sec of state.

Then in 2016 they basically steal any chance of a fair primary from Bernie Sanders to ensure Hillary gets the nomination.

These dems deserve to be in the shape they're in. 8 years of trying to force Hillary down peoples throats instead of letting their party grow on its own and letting the people decide. Serves them right.

Time to smoke this spliff bruhder.

Man, I actually appreciate the way you articulate yourself. You seem like a pretty sharp guy.

Jobs- I want to see wage growth (at this point in cycle)
Economy- I want to see GDP growth
Debt- I doubt it would be eliminated in my life, or yours.
Taxes- can’t argue with it as well.
    Promises-not kept (by politicos)
Obama - didn’t fix anything (not even the financial crisis)
    History- we don’t know yet.

Trump?- who knows how this will shake out. We are always one geopolitical episode away from a shit storm...regardless. His tax plan could prove to be very beneficial.

Being American- seems like we have it pretty good considering...

Thanks Jay, although I am sure plenty on here would disagree with you whole heartily though lol

I'm am hoping Trump succeeds (albeit I wish he could do in a much, much more professional manner). If any other president accomplished ONE of the things I listed earlier, their presidency would be considered a success by most measures.

Being Americans, we do have it better than most, if not, all.

Nah JayD is right, while I disagree with many of the things you say, you at least articulate your point, and while you can be annoyingly persistent, I respect your POV.
