You're the one that said we need more republicans. Perhaps you should specify which "type" of republican you are talking about.
I can see the connection but def not trying to say that. Maybe I should have said "lasted 4 years in office" My b
If the 60 vote threshold is stopping you from pushing your agenda, then one could argue the country isn't behind it. Imagine what Obama would have passed without it. It is a good check/balance.
Perhaps you should read between the lines and know what I'm talking about without having to break every little detail down for you like a child. Use that little pea brain of yours!
Yes and no. I obviously want the policy changes and I want them now, but JayD makes a good point as well. It's something that could end up coming back to bite them if the tables get turned later down the road. I'm not an expert on the subject so I would hope there would be a way to fix it if it were to become an issue.
DJT is directly responsible for republicans switching sides... If he can't get them to vote for his agenda he has his own divisivness to blame. Many people that would normally vote rep are not voting or voting against him just because of his douche canoeness.
Brah, you said republicans...you really meant Trump supporters, Just say what you mean. You want a congress full of yes men, with no alternative opinions. Sounds like democracy!
But that's the point. Passing law should not be easy. It should be difficult because placing another rule on the way people live their lives is not something to be taken lightly. There is no easy fix because we are a democracy of free thinkers. Democracy is messy, rules like this are part in place to make sure we are not swinging wildly every 4 years. It is a necessary evil to maintain a democracy. Obama got Obamacare passed with 60 votes (the most controversial legislature in our lifetime), Trump should be able to do the same with his agenda.
Maybe, but most of these people had their mind made up before he was even elected. Didn't even give him a chance. Were part of the resistance from day 1. He is a polarizing figure and some people don't like him, I get it, but it's no excuse to vote against him just because of your personal feelings for him when there is a good bill that could be passed. Someone said they wanted to repeal and replace Obama Care, then flipped and went the other direction simply for their personal feelings instead of doing what was right for the Country. They care more about being a thorn in his side and "resisting" then they do about doing what's right for the American people. It's petty politics. You can vote for good policy and still have your opinions about the guy, but to take it out on the American people is wrong.
People did make up thier mind before he was elected... And I think that is his fault. People keep saying polarizing. I don't necessarily think it's polarizing. It's blatant obnoxiousness, rudeness and douche canoeness... Just think about it. He's such a cocksucker that people would vote against anything he proposed. Just because they would not want him to get credit for anything positive. And that's his fault. The job is not just coming up with good policies (he has done that), it's getting people to vore for your policies (he's failed) My mother taught me from a young age, "don't be a dick and you'll get what you want."
Or perhaps some people saw their party losing all the morality they have preached for years and didn't like it. Sometimes character is just as important as policy in politics, just the way it is and it goes both ways.
What's wrong with Republicans supporting a Republican President? Especially on policy that they have previously supported. Congress is what has been holding things up, it's the same old story. Too many chiefs and not enough indians. The solution to that is to get enough people to vote yes and the log jam of legislation can be fixed. I think most Americans are sick and tired of the political games and just want solutions at this point.
He had that legislature passed because he didn't let most people see what was in it until AFTER it was passed. He had his parties' loyalty from the beginning. They voted blindly because they supported their democrat President. The DNC and the MSM just couldn't get enough of the smoothe talking mixed fella. He's sooo cool, he likes Jay Z and Beyonce. He's so down the earth and so well spoken lmao... Meanwhile America takes it up the ass.
If you say so, I just don't see it that way. I don't get butt hurt when he's a douche and retaliates against his attackers in an abrasive way. I can't recall a time where he went after someone unprovoked. All I have seen is people attack him, he retaliates, then he's the bad guy. And like I said, none of that should matter when we're talking about policy that can affect the entire Country. People of congress need to put their personal feelings aside when it comes to this. It doesn't help the country to have a vendetta against the President because you think he's a douche canoe.
Give me a break?! That's what I've been telling the Republican party when they get on their morality high horse for the past 30 years. You can't be the party of "good Christians" when your leader is a documented misogynist. Thems the breaks bud.
Nobody should be claiming moral high ground. Everybody is a sinner. Nobody is perfect. Doesn't matter what side you are on. The very same people who claim moral high ground have plenty of their own skeletons in the closet.
