You’re right, I brought it up here instead of creating another non-surf related thread. I consider this a catch all thread for most political or non-surf related topics. This thread has covered many topics other than DJT. My point was that everybody was talking when fake bombs were mailed to Democrats, and nobody was hurt. But nobody was talking about 11 Jews who were murdered by someone who was outspoken against Trump. When I say nobody, I’m referring to this forum.

I must have missed B.O. speaking out against Farrakhan’s anti-semitism. Can you point me to his comments that must have missed? I have been pretty busy lately and very easily could have missed it.

I’m not saying Farrakhan’s comments caused this guy to murder those innocent people. I’m saying that when a public figure makes those type of comments, other public figures, especially those who are associated with that person should have the backbone to say that what he said is wrong.

By being silent, others may see the comments as being acceptable by those they may look up to or look to for leadership. It reinforces their already warped views.

Obama didn't denounce those quotes specifically, but has condemned Farrahkan in the past.

"I decry racism and anti-Semitism in every form and strongly condemn the anti-Semitic statements made by Minister Farrakhan. I assume that Trumpet Magazinemade its own decision to honor Farrakhan based on his efforts to rehabilitate ex-offenders, but it is not a decision with which I agree."
    https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-.../chain-email/obama-decried-farrakhans-racism/

That is why I ask if you think he should condemn him every time he says something stupid.
If you think he should then my next question would be did you have a problem with Trump not condemning the white supremacist than ran that car into the crowd in Charlottesville? I don't recall him doing it at the time, only tweeting on the one year anniversary.

Again, I think most of the posts referring to the mail bomb were debating if he was a plant or not. There is no debate about that in this case, so a lot less chatter imo.

So how bout DJTs comments after the shooting. Would an armed guard have stopped the shooting? Were the police carrying water pistols?

That is him instantly politicizing a tragedy. Another thing him and the libs have in common.

Thank you, never saw this before, although it’s almost a year old. I didn’t see anything about the recent comment about being anti-termite, basically calling Jews insects, which obviously should be exterminated. Forgive me for being a little pissed to see what’s happening. I guess I expect too much of people sometimes.

I’m not saying we should debate this mass murder, just pointing to the lack of discussion about it when people are murdered vs the heavily debated topic when nobody was hurt. I just found it interesting that this doesn’t have near the interest.

I agree with him, there should be armed guards. Were the police already there or did they get called there? I haven’t had time to read enough about it.

I don’t think it’s politicizing, I think he wants to make changes and protect people.

Good intentions, right? Same reason the libs try to push gun control right after these shootings. All with good intentions. Still wrong.

What he said reminded me of Israel. Almost every synagogue I saw had IDF posted in front of it. Not sure if that is the kind of country I want to live in.

That’s kinda silly. If a bank robber goes in with a gun but never shoots anyone he robbed the bank with a fake gun?

Police got called. Armed guard will most likely be the first one shot. There are armed guard at plenty of places where there’s been shooting and it didn’t help.
I’m actually not opposed to arm guards. I figure it can’t hurt. But I don’t think it will help for mass shootings that are planned

If he knew what he was doing I’m sure he would have been successful with at least one of the “bombs” going off.

I don’t see trying to take away one of our rights as good intentions. Empowering people to use their rights is however.

You’re assuming the armed guards would be shot first. You don’t know that.
