we got waves here in jers right now and im sick.really sucks, dont really know if il even be able to go to work tomorrow but if I don't then I don't get paid for Thursday and Friday.ehhhh
Drove around and did some recon in the western parts of RI where I haven’t surfed. Pt Judith was very big (no intention of surfing, just wanted to see it) but no one out. Surfed Gansett for a few hours. Getting out was a bit of work but it was ok. Wicked side current on the inside there, totally unlike my usual breaks. Got washed all the way back in by one set that I couldn’t get outside of in time which is always a funny reminder that the ocean doesn’t care about any lapses in focus. I assume the good surfers were in Newport or farther west as there were lots of waves but not a lot of people out.
Mitchell's pics above "Marva" was much better than "Del" as all the Kooky day trippers followed each other to my favorite spot.
Finally feel re-charged. Had to work Thanksgiving but took a vaca day to make a long weekend. Got to surf everyday since Thursday. Friday was better then Thursday. Yesterday was the sheete. Gulf tweets were abound. Today was mushy but still had some fun rides. Also took the boys fishing 3 of the days, and got the lights up, so the wife is happy. My arms and back have that tight/sore ach that only comes from multiple days of surf. This weekend was much needed and good for the soul. Glad to see others got some. Yank, sorry to hear about the knee. Hope it’s a quick recovery man
Mitch, Surfing today was a blast. Hope you caught some good waves. The second photo (guy in the blue w/ red board) is me. If you happen to have any other cool photos of me surfing I would really appreciate you sending them. Stoked I made your photo reel lol!
Hey Rob...yeah...all surfed out now. I was surfing a couple peaks up the beach from 8-10 then busted a fin out of my board somehow, got out and grabbed the camera like real quick got this shot of you. Nice backside rail grab! Then checked uptown, surfed there for another bit...not as good...then surfed again tonight from 3-4:30...about half the size but buttery with the low tide.
drove back saturday and got in on a late afternoon sess. landed on 6th E and drifted south to 3rd. took out the 6'4 perfection aka miss clementine, and grabbed only a handfull. ez paddle in, but the waves were a bit inconsistent and collapsed real quik when they did. no ride too special from that session, just getting to it was awesome. brought out the fun shapes the next day, but the jag broke down halfway. been a long wknd, today is gonna suk at work
Smitty, Nailed it, when it's late Nov. & out of State plates out number "locals" its a cluster "F". I have never been accused of being smart, a member of the "Forrest Gump" surfing club!
Yesterday was about as good of a day to be a surfer in NJ as there gets. Good waves at sunrise. Good waves at sunset. Light offshore winds the entire day. Water cool but not cold. Conditions at sunrise: Conditions at sunset. And it was a great sunset.
def kooky in parts, but IRI was awesome yesterday evening. plenty of peaks away from the jetty and the bigger ones still held a line. One particular right as the sun was dropping was the perfect end to the weekend, hope everyone scored!
Thanks again for the photo man! Hopefully you had a spare fin on hand. After short boarding most of the morning I went out at a different spot on a longboard for the afternoon. Fun day!
Amped for this snowboard season! I trekked up to Hunter NY Friday/Saturday and then back to OC to surf Sunday. There is a ton of snow up in the northeast. Another storm is moving through New Hampshire today that is forecasted to drop another foot or two of snow!
