I sometimes wear a knee support. You know just the heavy fabric kind. Granted that's at home and it's under a suit so it stays in place nicley.
Spent two hours last night just watching vids of the Rincon areas and the spots you guys recommended - my wife said she’s gonna keep me working out so I’m ready for it Hahahah
Flying out January 7th and coming back the 11th. Wanted to go longer but can’t afford it with bringing the board fees too. And hells yeahs Seal! I was watching “Coastalwatch - The once a swell 2016” right before I wrote this lol. I’ve said it once about 1,200 posts ago, I’ve wished all my life to surf and loved the ocean since I was a kid, so Ive got a lot of lost time to make up and a short window to do it before I start to really falling apart.
So, maybe then, seeing as how you have all this catch up to do, shouldn't you go straight out to a place like Hawaii, surf, Jaws (Pea'hi), drop in on every one at Pipeline, and cut others off as you drop in at Lainakea?? Or maybe Tres Palmas at 30 feet?? On your Roberts shortboard??
And by the way, boys, and girls, if there is any ONE remaining here....I went out to dinner last week with surfing friends of old while I was in Rincon, PR. They informed me 12 surfers drowned in the last 12 months or so at multiple locations. Of course, never reported by PR news. After all, we do not want to spook tourism now, do we?? They even erected a couple of memorials at Dogmans area where 2 gringos drowned. Again, surfing on continental coastlines is NOT like surfing on a big day in PR. Caveat Emptor.
Dang, 12 people is a lot. It’s no joke when it gets big down there, I can personally attest to the dangers with a close call myself.
Well, keep in mind that 12 maybe be a bit hyperbole, but, they are usually reliable sources. No evidence except 2 memorials I saw. But the facts remain the same--PR wave juice is much more energy than the wimpy continental shelf waves, which are enough to drown some.
Nah, I’m gonna go nice and slow when it comes to this shyt and get crotchety pricks like you all worked up! It’s like mental viagra for you Cuda - you obviously couldn’t function without it for long And this is like blood in the water for you hahaha
Don’t let it get in your head, you’ll psych yourself out and will play it too safe on a fun day. Just be smart and respect it.
I always seem to end up at Stuart Rocks, Jupiter inlet, the reef at Hobe Sound, or Ocean Reef Park in Palm Beach maybe, if the swell is making it in and the sand buildup around those rocks is working. Maybe Juno Pier
Hawaii does same stuff. They report drowning for 2 seconds on news then it is never spoken of again (caveat - unless it's a famous/pro surfer). Experienced no names die every winter. Not dangerous for me though (except the sharks) as big, north shore results with me on the plethora of fun south shore spots!
UPDATE: Worked with Southwest and they are refunding me one way airfare so guess where I'm going back in the summer?
i wouldn't think it'd be CR since it's the rainy season. if it's the summer, it's gotta be Myrtle Beach
