Yesterday: Louisville 23 Syracuse 54 Tonight: Florida State 13 Notre Dame 42 Next week (11/17): Syracuse (8-2) vs Notre Dame (9-0) at Yankee Stadium could be a good one. I'm a fan of both schools, but will be rooting for the Orangemen.
The Georgia fake punt was probably the worst play call in the history of play calls. Notre Dame is going to fuck Clemson up. Mark my words.
Watched the Army-Navy game on TV last Saturday. Wished it would've been more of a contest. Navy didn't score until 4th qtr. Still, I make time for that game each year. Army's uniform commemorated the 1st Infantry Division. In conjunction with the game, Joint Expeditionary Base Ft. Story (in VB) puts on an Army-Navy 10K run that morning. My son and I have run it in the past. It's a good run, usually a bit chilly (high 30s-low 40s), and I ran it again this year.
I grew up near the Naval Academy. Those mid-shipmen athletes have so much on their plate. I'm sure it's the same at West Point. Much respect for them. I had dreamed about going to the NA when I was a kid. As I got older though, I started to understand how true the old saying is: "It's a million dollar education, shoved up your a** one nickle at a time"
It's definitely tough. The academics probably would've killed me. I have several friends, Navy and Marine, who graduated from USNA. I applied to the Coast Guard Academy but wasn't accepted. Ended up going into the Navy after college. Sort of glad now that I went to a non-military school.
Each year, I continue to be amazed at the high number (39) of college bowl games as well as some of the teams who qualified, despite their records, to play in them. When I was a kid, there were maybe four bowls: Rose, Cotton, Sugar, and Orange. https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...-bowl-schedule-games-dates-times-tv-channels/
Which tells you just how bad my Noles are this year for not making one. SMH, Willy Taggart should be ashamed of himself.
I just scored tickets to the Hawaii bowl. I remember years ago UH made the peach or sugar bowl (I guess I don’t remember that well lol). I was all stoked for them and the got whooped like 52-0 by the bulldogs.
Very sad, BUT, I am happy for UCF, they're doing a good job with that program. FSU will bounce back, it wasn't that long ago that we won the National Championship, but Jimbo is gone, and ole Willy isn't showing enough promise yet, but I give all new coaches 3 years before I make a final judgement. Give them time to build a recruiting class of their own.
I think UCF should be in there instead of Oklahoma; however, since their QB destroyed his knee a couple weeks ago they aren't the same team and would get rolled by Bama imo.
