Or visa versa, I like to surf up there too, it's way more scenic and serene and usually breaks better on smaller days. And I don't mind the rocks to the south of the point. Maybe Wednesday or Thursday when the next swell hits.

So, what do you guys think a local custom poly LB should run?

$1000 about. And that is if you get what you "really really want".
Pocket change, really, if your board please you. Advice: don't focus on money when custom ordering; focus on outcome. Makes shaper much more willing to provide you exactly what you specify. A few bucks will never make a difference to you if you are out surfing on a beautiful day and your new board functions EXACTLY as you dreamt. "La Vida es sueno", Calderon De La Barca

Yep, and it's still in great shape after nearly 4 1/2 years of frequent riding. I've made a couple of very minor repairs along the way but mostly preventative stuff.

Can't disagree with being focused on getting what I want...that is exactly what I am doing with this. Totally agree with you. I was just curious. I have not gotten a custom since 97 on a LB (paid $375 then). I see the prices on the stock boards in shops. I pay $4-500 on custom SBs. I figured at least $600 on LB. I doubt I will pay $1000 though...

From what I've seen, starting at mid-$800 - $900 range.
But I found my Frierson HPLB on Craigslist for $400.

Just like to add on your glassing schedule .
A deck patch in addition to 6 and 6 deck and single 6 on bottom with another patch on bottom for fin boxes
In old days a longboard used in a contest had to be minimum 9 foot and 3 ft longer than rider was tall

Plus if you get hit with a 25 pound lb its a whole different world than gettin tagged by some wavestorm or similiar softtop ,
Longboards can break bones and really mess up up the rest of your day,
In buxton a boogie boarder wearin a divemask of all things dropped in on me,i was too close to him when he came down to turn and i didnt want him to die from the impact so i tried to rodeo the big girl through the backdoor ....... owww..
I had to drive back home with what turned out to be three broken ribs
every breath felt like my lung was draggin across a sharp jagged edge
Be careful out there my young brothers be wary of strange Os with divemasks and snorkels riding boogie boards, assume they are dangerous
