My last flight the guy I sat next to showed me security footage of 2 guys arguing at a cafe down there (told me San Juan area), one dude just pulls out a gun and shoots him 5 or 6 times in front of a few people and they just casually go on about their business. He was saying the gangs have been getting more active/brazen.
Its like here in NJ, know the spots to avoid. I dont go down certain streets in Atlantic City or roam through Newark and Camden at 2am.
It seems Nicaragua isn't getting any better either, was hoping to get down there this summer but still appears they could break out in civil war any day.
been watching the too. seems like the issues are only around the cities. Maybe fly to Liberia CR and head up the coast that way?
So, you are deprived on certain areas.....hmmmm. Now, you see, that brings up those "no go" areas that muslim impose on non-muslim nations. You go in and they either tell you to leave, or hurt/kill you; even law enforcement stays out. Common in European countries, ie, France, Belgium, etc. So, they push their way into a guest country, then they tell their very guests to stay out of areas of their very own country. See, that just doesn't fly with me. Law enforcement should raze/burn/ annihilate those areas to the ground so only cinders remain, gather up the residents (muslims, hispanics, blacks, etc) and extradite them as invaders, citizen or not. Same thing, whether it be Brussels, Atlantic City, Camden, or San Juan. They should be killed. Period. It would never happen again.
It is my understanding, the border has toughened up with Sandinistas loyal to the government. They want to build a wall and make CR pay for it.
if by extradite you mean exterminate then yes, i agree. Word on the border. A huge chunck of of the CR police is working on the border right now. Maybe that's why we kept getting pulled over for passport checks too.
Fark dude, just fly into Liberia if all the other stuff is getting into your head. I was in northwest CR last August and it's a cakewalk, Liberia was totally chill all the way to the coast. I personally wouldn't paddle out at Playa Grande or Playa Negra unless you like surfing with 40 frothing Brazilians though. Every other spot was fairly chill though
I completly disagree. Late september i went to CR. Crime is for sure doing its thing in big cities. But we don't surf big cities. Playa grande was awesome. Everyone was incredibly nice. I met random locals and got driven around and invited into homes. Beautiful people. Even liberia, i jumped in a car with a random guy and got taken to my hotel. As far as surfing grande with 40 guys....i surfed with only a handful of guys the whole time. All about timing. Yeah if you go in peak season im sure you'll see crowds. But rainy season i saw none. And the waves were great. Go anywhere at the season's peak and you'll be disappointed.
This might come off as me trying to sound like a tough guy. But im not. Are there dangerous places in the world? Hell yeah. CR/PR? Not really. That's not to say bad things can't happen. Every place has crime. Any place can be dangerous. My point is if your street smart and aren't going to the worst of the worst, then relax. A little common sense and street smarts goes a long way. Now im from NY. I walk through crappy places in the city ran by bloods. At home there's a huge MS13 problem. I grew up in a town where stabbings and shootings happen. Not daily. But it happened often enough. So iv been around that type of stuff enough to know how to act. When i went to new orleans i stayed in a TERRIBLE spot. 7th or 9th ward. I forget but believe it was the 7th. Got a gun pulled on me the first night. Crack being sold all night right outside our air bnb. We had a blast. Was it fun being a gun pulled on me? Hell no. But situation was defused and i continued walking around at night as we had no car. The trip was a blast. The point im getting at is you shouldn't let the numbers scare you. Be aware. Be cautious. If you don't have street smarts, realize that and take it into consideration. But in CR/PR specifically, there's so many great people. Way more than bad. There's bad people everywhere. But that shouldn't keep you from seeing and surfing these places
I believe that y’all should stay home. Surf those beach breaks & post info on life in heavy rubber suites
You're as cold today as the icy New England water ...................... Yankee waiting for wheels up and you have your wheels down so keep on rolling
Yeah, you are correct.. Just getting sick of the bulldung and the namby-pamby liberal way of dealing with it, because it doesn't work.
