Sure, walls work, but we're talking about 2,000 miles of wall, at a cost of about 3 aircraft carriers.
And the 100 billion for Iran Deal?? And you got WHAT in return for that?? I would like to point out, that the border with Canada is about 3900 miles long (I am unsure of total length, too lazy to google it), if you include Alaska. We have zero illegal immigration PROBLEMS along it ( a rare attempt, usually by non-canadians). The Mexican border is nothing BUT trouble--always has been, always will be. 5 billion is worth it; it is a great deal over the long run.
That's my calculus too. So really, the wall was never going to happen, it's just become a political stunt. If you were actually a voter who believes passionately in the wall, then I'd be pissed at Trump, for turning the whole thing into a way to just get more votes. If Trump had *really* wanted the wall to be built, he would have put the GOP legislators toes to the fire, when they had control.
Again, as a democrat, and others as republicans, are BOTH missing the point. The point is, a barrier is NEEDED--they work. Not a republican barrier, not a democrat barrier. But a barrier. You are ALL being sucked in to partisanship because of frank stupidity, which takes away from the necessity of the barrier. American "teamwork" at its worst. Curt Cobain had it right, "the stench of teamwork".
Trump is not GOP. That's why he gets so much crap (note: his mouth/tweets dont help but I enjoy them so keep em coming) Trump scares the crap out of the political machine because he ain't a member and has enough FU money that he doesn't have to comply. For the record, I was not a Trump fan but people accuse me of being in his corner because of thoughts that I just presented. I formed my opinions based on what I have seen. I have to admit - part of me thinks he is stupid but a larger part of me thinks that he is a genius. I am not going to argue on here. I hate both political parties. I enjoy the fact that all of you seem dedicated to knowledge and search for some sort of truth. Truth is a path that leads down many roads so I understand the differences in opinions and respect all of them (note: I despise all progressives and socialists thus they are stupid and exempt from my previous statement)
How many times do I have to explain this to you morons? The Senate requires 60 votes, it is not a simple majority. The House has passed a bill but the Senate can't get 60, therefore it isn't passed. It will require a few of the Democrats to vote yes. Not to mention you have a few "never Trumpers" on the Republican side who might as well change and be a Democrat. Trump has asked Mitch McConnell to change the rules to a simple majority, but Mitch won't do it. Don't worry though, there are a few Democrats who will slowly come around and vote yes. It's coming...
Yes, but the GOP lost the house, so it's all moot. Gotta get a bill through the house now, and that ain't happening as far as I can tell.
We don't *need* a barrier any more now then we did 2 years ago, or 6 years ago. I would describe it more as a 'want' than a need. As I mentioned previously, we already have walls/barriers where it matters most, the rest is window dressing.
Well since you didn't even know it requires a vote of 60 in the Senate, I'm not worried about what you can and can't tell. We'll be fine without your foresight.
Semantics, spoon fed to you. The illegals are coming in via the areas of least resistance, ie, where no barrier exists. You are safely in NH. Southwestern state residents overwhelmingly disagree with you. It is needed. You have not yet responded to my point of giving Iran about 100 Billion in the phony nuke deal, while declining 5 billion for a protective barrier on southern borders. Why? Partisanship. It blinds you.
Sorry, most Americans don't agree that a wall is a priority with our tax money -> https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1&q=latest+mexican+wall+polls Hell even Texans don't want it -> https://www.star-telegram.com/news/state/texas/article152402734.html Iran?! What's your source behind your 100 Billion claim? Was it taxpayer money?
dude I just wrote endless posts of the actual truth about what's actually happening at the border, none of which you have obviously read or comprehend. Barry was right, you just sound dumb. If you seriously want to bring cogent argument to the topic, come prepared with intelligent questions instead of partisan opinions, hurt feelings and a dripping vagina.
Sorry SUP, everyone supports the wall that Mexico was going to pay for, just not the wall that Trump says we now must borrow money to pay for. It turns out...he lied. On a more practical note, I think they should raise bonds on the issue. You know like war bonds during WWII. People like you can pump them up and buy them, and they will go to fund the wall effort.
Even reading what you wrote, I wouldn't consider it anything close to a "crisis" on our southern border.
