A couple of weeks back on my very last wave (would have been regardless) I snapped the nose on the board I would ride in weak, glassy conditions. It wasn't a longboard but a really old school Yearwood twin fin that had a good amount of weight to it. It was the perfect board for glassy summer mornings or your typical grovel wave so it had to be replaced asap. I didn't want to go full-on longboard so I settled on this 6'1 x 22 x 3 Mini Roach (Ty Roach model) I think it's going to be perfect for what I need it for. I actually traded in an Action for it so stayed with the same brand. Solid boards. Hopefully my quiver is complete again.

I probably will some especially if it's breaking super fast. It's just nice to grab a short board on the occasional good days. I had just come from another shop that had a Greedy Beaver marked way down and this board reminds me of that one quite a bit. It's actually a thruster set up so I'm hoping for glide and maneuverability.

Sale on the INT website for 186 with tax and local pick up.
Just waiting on my front foot traction to arrive. Anybody ever ride one? 4’10. About a full foot shorter than the smallest board I’ve ever ridden.

That looks fun! Just be careful in the sun with that black. I had a dark purple board once and it would get damn near hot. Hard to keep wax on it too....in the summer. I've got a 5'4 I ride alot but never been under 5' unless you count my Beater. Curious on the dimensions?

No wax. Gonna cover it with traction.
It’s about 21” wide and 2-3/4” thick. It said 32L on the website

My prediction is you're gonna find it mind blowing, in the right kind of waves. I made myself a 4'11 at few years ago, and hadn't really ever spent much time on anything shorter than 5'9" or so before that.

The width and wide squash tail is going to make it burst with speed once you pump it a time or two and get it up on plane, even in soft-faced waves.

Hopefully its flat rockered...theres no reason for a board that short to have much rocker.

Pretty flat rocker from what I can tell. Winds supposed to die down here for Tuesday morning. 2-3’, probably gonna give it a go and see how it rides.

Mostly got this for the summer when the lifeguards post up in front of my house.

I dont know how you guys can ride those super small boards. My skills + 4'11" stick = tired arms and lots of missed waves!

Most of them cannot, smitty. They just be talking shit.
I know this, because they are humans, like the rest of us. And if they are anywhere near my age, their skills on those fat little chubsters are going to waste, and they do so.....to be cool. They aren't.

Barry - interesting perspective wrt riding what u can versus riding what may be cool. I dont know anything about the folks on here so maybe they can surf them so my next comments dont refer to those fellas. I personally gave up caring what is cool along time ago. I grew up in the 80s. I would flail on the potatoe chip boards everyone rode. I started riding bigger boards and everything clicked with my style. Through my teens I rode what are now called fun shapes. I still to this day take shit for what I ride (100% longboards) but stopped caring 20 yrs ago. I longboarded throughout the late 80s and 90s and took so much shit but I had too much fun to care! I have seen some OCMD boys ripping on those super small boards but it's not the type of surfing that makes me feel good.

    True.
My shortest board is now 7'6". Both are gunny. I can surf them still and surf them well.
But at 68, that will soon come to a close.

No doubt there are trends and "cool" boards. But people can like diffrent things. Depending on your size ofcourse, a 4'11 ain't that crazy to surf. There's alot more to a board then just length. 21-22 inches wide and 2 3/4 thick.... that's alot of board. 32 liters.

If you like longer boards that's great. I enjoy many styles of boards. Nothing wrong with it. If he got it to be cool then that's the issue, regardless of style of board. But maybe, just maybe.... crazy thought i know..... but maybe some people enjoy shorter boards. Wow.

The board posted has more volume than my 5'7, 5'8, 6'4. The 6'4 in particular is slimmed out and potato chippy.

Now i don't care what anyone rides or what people think of what i ride. BUT if i see a guy with a rockered out super foiled potato chip of a board.... I'm shaking my head. Board won't work in most east coast conditions and he's probably going after an image. I see a guy with a board like the 4'11 in question? Im thinking there's a guy who understands he needs extra float whether it be due to age, skill, conditions, or all of it. But he still wants to surf a certain way. Good for him.

You've been surfing a long time but it appears this is news to you. So i'll fill you in on a little secret. Length is just one part of a board. There's width, thickness, outline, rocker, foil, as well as many other factors.

For a bunch of guys who ride shorter boards to be "cool" then why does no one here judge you for riding bigger boards? Seems your the one who thinks he's "cool" and have to judge people for their board choices?
