was my firewire flexfire till it snapped. Picked up a 6'2" Surtech TL2 UFO. I know all you guys hate pop outs but I got a good price and couldn't pass it up. It's my only board, so it's my favorite... haha. I don't think I will go back to PU. Every board (I've had a lot) has gotten a delam in the same exact spot. Not sure why, might be because of my knee when barrell riding or my butt when sitting. but without fail, same spot, every board in less than 1 year. Can't have that.

for the past couple years, its been a 5'10x21"x 2 5/8" diamond tail stubby 5 fin bonzer by brian wynn. (if any of you were at this past fall's ab3 east on lbi, brian had it there). that's been my go-to board for everything from waist-1 or 2ft overhead. rode it 90% of the time when i was in panama this past summer. when it gets bigger than that, i have a 6'6"x19 1/4"x2 5/8" round pin bonzer 5, also by brian wynn. i've not yet found the upper limit of this board...i'm guessing it will handle doh+.
its a toss up for me between a 6.0 BAT "sunfish" tri and a 5.10 hybrid fish sunfish: a little more foam in both nose/tail than a standard short, but every bit as maneuverable as a high performance SB while having a tad more "wave catching" ability. good for any swell up to 3-4' over head (which we dont see often in CFL) hybrid fish: basic modern style fish in the tail, with a little more rocker through out and more of an "edge" in the rails, also has more of a pointed nose. great board for up to head high, then gets a little "skatey"
