This exactly. I got no problem with vlogs. I don't watch them but if that's you thing then go right ahead. But don't blow up our local spots for your personal gain. Give respect to get it in return. Posting drone footage of a special local place is not being respectful.
He spot burned Lake Tahoe something awful. Gave up all the details.....showed in full 4k resolution exactly which beach access had the best knee high chop conditions.
Ben doesn't even blow up spots in New Jersey even though they are all well known and easily identified by those in the know. I like how he's stood up and ridden a wave in 47 states. 5 years ago his life was a train wreck but he's sober now and looks like he's turned himself around. If his Vlog helped in that turnaround, I'm OK with it.
Someone should start a treade entitled 'Secret Surf Spots' & then have a few guys rave about crankin' breaks like the Potomac River near Alexandria, etc. Might keep some of the douche canoes occupied for a few weeks.
Maybe 15 years ago when I first surfed there...unfortunately times have changed and the moron apocalypse has ensued.
Eagles trained to take down drones--there is hope!! https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-e...JanyKnWKZgYkkZ0K-0GfGiaXeT77J1Adj68vPjOLz4Ols
It's all about telling the world you scored... because just knowing you scored isn't enough for some people. I blame the "look at me" world of modern American youth culture, where if you're not posting it online, it didn't happen. I think there's a difference between an insta that's like a scrap book where your friends and family choose to follow you our not, and planing your volog on a chat forum full of strangers. The only thing I could think of watching that was... why isn't he noseriding those clean little peelers on a singlefin log? He could have gotten some serious tip time that day.
Winter is not the crowd control it used to be. Wetsuit technology and constant exposure can change this Dont take solitude for granted - can be fleeting. Our mid-Atlantic "spots" can be packed in the middle of the winter. Ask Yankee - his local spot crowd ranges from freaking zoo to doable. 15yrs ago it was just uncrowded!
Agreed, however for this place you need a boat or ya need to be a very good swimmer. Making it over in winter can be a challenge.
As much as i dislike vlogs, i will give ben gravy credit. At least he doesn't spot name. A guy from my local is just like this character. Maybe worse. Stealing bens mannerisms and all that. But for some reason the wanna bes don't catch on to the spot naming. Drives me crazy. Take everything from ben except the one positive in not naming spots.
Dude, thanks for the deets on a new spot to hit up. Tickets are bought, boards packed. I'll be bringing half the trailer park on this expedition, wooooh weeeh. Those waves look sweet as teets. Only prob is you didn't let us know where to park. Also, I don't have one of those mouth things or a ProGo. Will this affect my ability to shred those waves?
I'd be interested in a blog giving away those cool spots that break inside Chesapeake Bay during those monster swells
